GET Creative Social Media Marketing Strategist Role
GET Creative, Gannett’s branded content studio, is looking for a forward-thinking Social Media Marketing Strategist who will report to and work closely with our Social Media Manager to help take our branded content to the next level.
We work with premium brand partners in a fast-paced environment—and need you to get the word out about our work. You’ll work with our Social Media Manager to help drive social strategy for our branded content campaigns, help track social metrics and performance, report on campaign progress and insights, and promote our campaigns internally and within our own social channels.
An interest in and understanding of advertising, innovative marketing and the digital space is a plus. You’ll also need experience and/or an understanding of social platforms from a content and advertising perspective and the ability to interpret and report on multiple advertising campaigns. Finally, a track record of exceptional campaign coordination, especially as it relates to organization, time management, and internal communications is strongly preferred.
This role is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop skills in multiple areas within the digital media and marketing industry. This position requires an understanding of social media trends in the digital space, the capacity to strategically coordinate and execute multiple campaigns, the organizational skills to report on campaign metrics and insights, and the proactive ability to manage internal marketing initiatives that promote our brand and work.
This is a full-time position based in the Washington, DC area at our corporate headquarters in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO
·Write copy, create social posts, coordinate (with multiple teams) and execute multiple social media campaigns for a variety of advertising partners simultaneously.
·Create social media promotional/paid advertising strategy and execution for branded content social campaigns. Create, promote and optimize campaigns based on client KPI’s.
·Evaluate results of social media campaigns during wrap report process to help client understand campaign achievements.
·Work closely with Sales, Content and Program Manager teams for holisticcampaign execution and approach. Share social strategy and campaign updates on client-facing kick-off calls and weekly meetings for multiple campaigns.
·Create plan, write copy and execute social media-specific campaign content (live events, Instagram Stories, on location social executions). Coordinate with Editorial contacts, Sales, Content and Client Solution teams to ensure social execution and strategy is aligned.
·Ensure campaign deliverables are optimized for each platform (review and provide guidance as needed for social video cuts, transcribe video captions, create social sharing buttons and ensure article copy and content follows social media guidelines.
·Ensure local social media campaign content adheres to social media guidelines and best practices. Work with Social Media Coordinator to edit or reinterpret as needed.
·Track, interpret, and report on campaign metrics for multiple campaigns. Oversee reporting for national and local campaigns.
·Ensure local social media promotion is being executed successfully and performance is communicated with internal stakeholders.
·Help Social Media Manager create Pre-Sale campaign strategy as needed. Work in collaboration with Pre-Sale teams (Content, Sales and Client Solutions) to create plans and ensure social ideas have been vetted by Editorial.
·Help benchmark and research competitors and industry leaders in branded content social media
·Work with Social Media Manager to help create social media training and overview documents as needed (FAQ docs, newsletter, best practices, etc.) for trainings, presentations and overviews.
·Help grow and promote GET Creative social channels as related to strategy, content, engagement and channel traffic (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
Desired Skills and Experience
·2-4 years’ experience in digital marketing, social media marketing, or advertising preferably
·Possesses strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, tireless work ethic, an ability to multitask and a thirst for success in coordinating media campaigns and disseminating campaign metrics. A passion or strong interest in digital marketing, advertising, and the media industry are key.
·Must be comfortable working with a broad range of cross-functional staff—junior to senior, sales, marketing, editorial, design, analytics, etc.
·Ability to work comfortably in organizational platforms like Excel in order to track and interpret metrics
·Experience with and/or an understanding of content and advertising social media executions on platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and additional emerging tools
·Experience or interest with social media analytics (Facebook and Twitter Insights)
·Undergraduate degree, preferably in communications, marketing, advertising or a related field.
·Excellent written and communications skills are a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel,Outlook, and Word
