The Director of Executive Communications is responsible for developing the strategy for GoDaddy CEO’s written, digital/interactive, and verbal communications and messaging. S/he will ensure articulation of the CEO’s goals and objectives for the company’s mission, values, and strategic direction in all communications and media, and assist with core areas of the corporate narrative including executive platforms, international expansion, acquisitions and partnerships, and financial performance. S/he work closely with various team members across internal and external partners including senior leadership, product groups, marketing, PR, internal communications, and investor relations. The ideal candidate must a self-starter who's willing and able to roll up their sleeves and deliver results, be comfortable wearing many hats, with a keen ability to accommodate tight deadlines and shifting priorities. The candidate must be a team player who thrives in a very fast-paced environment, skilled at both strategic planning and tactical execution in the communications space.

Responsibilities:
• Create, manage, and execute executive communication programs related to the GoDaddy technology brand; increase internal and external awareness and credibility for the company as a tech innovator and advocate for a lifestyle of independent work/living.
• Build and implement clear, understandable communications that make complex concepts real and actionable, focused on corporate announcements, financial, and international expansion communications.
• Work with product communication leaders to incorporate product and service value into the company’s evolving corporate narrative.
• Use creative storytelling methods to bring out the executive’s authentic voice across speeches, media interaction, videos, presentations, emails, social media, and other communications.
• Manage and develop executive platforms, including the creation of speeches, talking points, and briefing materials.
• Have the ability to travel to staff speaking events.
Requirements:
• 8+ years of communications, public relations, or journalism experience; including 5+ years working for technology brands.
• Understand complex business strategy from multiple angles, and translate it into understandable and creative narratives.
• Define and develop corporate communications plans, and construct and execute tactics to support the plan and measure results.
• Work effectively with C-suite and senior executives, as well as multiple stakeholders across a global company; and create executive-ready content for company and leadership meetings.
• Be highly creative, innovative, and resourceful at finding the right stakeholders and building a strong network to facilitate cross-group collaboration. Have a passion for not only the process, but also for the end results and driving business outcomes.
• Be a nimble, flexible writer skilled in a variety of approaches for engaging audiences.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to land communications with a diverse global audience.
• Pay fanatical attention to detail and possess the organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and deliverables across many teams and organizations.
• Demonstrate a sincere desire for feedback and constructive criticism, with resilience and the ability to respond to feedback constructively.
• Demonstrate strong analytic, oral/written communication, project management, multi-tasking, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills with the executive maturity necessary to be an exemplary and respectful representative of the senior leadership team, with an audience of any level.
• Be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and demonstrate the ability to exercise effective judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes.
• This role must be based in Sunnyvale, California.
