About the Role
This Director of Trading Operations manages three trading operations professionals in support of the ongoing trading and loan transfer needs of Financial Institutions, Institutional Sales, Capital Markets, Finance, and Treasury. Specifically, this team executes all internal & external transfers, facilitates securitization and bulk sale settlements, and operates the Trading Engine on behalf of Financial Institutions. The team partners with Product and Engineering to automate all trading functions to ensure support in line with the growth of the business. Supervisory responsibilities include business continuity planning, responding to internal and external audits, and maintaining key controls. Additionally, this individual will partner and lead discussions to support the new LCX Marketplace, an electronic matching engine for loans routed by the Platform Balance and Secondary Markets teams.
What You'll Do
• Supervise the Trading Operations team and facilitate the timely and accurate analysis, execution and reporting of daily trades
• Partner with Platform Balance, Secondary Markets, and Investor Operations to contribute towards a positive, encouraging, and accountable team culture
• Shape the development of LCX and prepare for operational support
• Lead discussions with Product and Engineering on new product development, and improving existing trading systems.
• Perform a variety of analytical, data management, operational and reporting activities across the Investor team
• Support trading, investment analysis, and reporting dashboards for investors requiring the Trading Engine
• Review and analyze client portfolios and orders for accuracy
• Identify, fix, and reconcile trading errors
• Monitor existing positions and identify exceptions
• Perform post-trade functions including confirmation and allocations
• Prepare, validate and organize investment data using company proprietary databases and financial models
• Contribute towards onboarding new clients and existing client relationship management
• Collaborate with Treasury, Accounting and Finance staff by responding to information and data requests, facilitating trades, providing input for reporting, and validating trading activity
• Facilitate all operational responsibilities associated with Loan / Note transfers, block trades, secondary sales
• Reinforce a team approach throughout their client projects and internal initiatives
• Advocate and make business cases for process improvements and technology projects
• Identify opportunities and work with internal Lending Club stakeholders to continue strong growth, de-risk future growth and provide deliver a great customer experience
• Be the point of contact on various internal strategic programs by running projects and programs from the requirements phase through integration and implementation
About You
• Bachelor’s Degree required with a concentration in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field and 5-10 years of experience
• Strong communicator and ability to interact with senior leaders
• Strong organizational skills and desire to work both independently and in a team setting
• Strong mathematical/analytical skills, deductive reasoning, organization and attention to detail required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with efficiency and accuracy
• Understanding of financial debt instruments
• Ability to work flexible hours consistent with the needs of the Company and market conditions
• Advanced MS Office experience, including Excel
• Preferred, but not required
◦ 3 years of managerial experience
◦ Prior trading or trading support experience in a broker-dealer environment
◦ Proficiency or aptitude to learn SQL, Tableau and/or technical systems a plus
