Sales Enablement at MuleSoft, a Salesforce company, is transforming how we sell, enabling larger average selling prices (ASPs) and higher win rates delivering transformational API-based connectivity solutions to customers. Our mission is to create, facilitate and implement effective learning experiences across the entire sales play to drive MuleSoft ACV growth, for MuleSoft and Salesforce field teams. We don’t just roll out a model that is already proven -- we are defining the model.
The Vice President Global Field Enablement is responsible for leading a growing team of global enablement professionals in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of programs and tools that enable the adoption and application of MuleSoft sales methodologies by sales teams and field professionals, primarily across MuleSoft, but also in support of Salesforce business units. Reporting to the Vice President Field Operations, the leader of our global enablement function will help scale MuleSoft enablement programs, processes, and organization in anticipation of high MuleSoft growth, and in coordination/collaboration with Salesforce global and regional enablement teams. The position is based in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement the strategy for enablement programs and tools, anchored around MuleSoft’s Outcomes-Based Selling and Outcomes-Based Delivery methodologies, and designed to improve Account Executive productivity and the efficiency of our Onboarding process
• Lead and manage a high-performing team focused on the design, delivery, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the portfolio of enablement programs, reference materials, and distribution/delivery mechanisms across the globe
• Maintain portfolio of enablement programs including onboarding; playbooks, speaker training, and sales manager development, as well as associated tools (e.g., Gong, MindTickle, Bloomfire)
• Manage a blended learning model to include classroom, webinars, self-paced, and event-based training, leveraging conventional and new technologies (e.g., podcasts)
• Provide thought leadership in the domain of enablement methods and delivery systems to drive innovation, best practices, and a world-class operation
• Ensure team employs systemic and rigorous qualitative and quantitative analyses to determine and prioritize enablement needs, define the quantifiable relationship between training and desired outcomes; measure program effectiveness
• Define engagement model to support Product Marketing and other content partners across MuleSoft and Salesforce to develop and deliver required enablement assets and tools, including case studies, deal stories, selling guides, ROI tools, etc.
• Maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, primarily with the SVP of Global Sales, but also with other MuleSoft field leaders; MuleSoft c-level leaders; and Salesforce Enablement leaders to keep abreast of enablement priorities and stakeholder needs
• Maintain Learning Management System with curated content, self-service, and certification mechanisms, ensuring all MuleSoft content is most current and consistent with the “single source of truth” maintained by Product Marketing
• Be a subject matter expert in our sales/delivery process and methodology
• Ensure team members have clarity of purpose, the tools required to meet their responsibilities, and an environment conducive to diversity of thought, innovation, and personal/career growth
Requirements:
• 8+ years in enablement, sales or sales management, sales productivity. Account Executive experience a strong plus
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Instructional Design a plus
• Strong executive presence, communication and influence skills
• Strong collaboration and problem solving skills
• Comfortable presenting in front of large groups
• Proven track record of producing and hosting educational events, driving adoption, and measuring the impact of enablement programs.
• Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly, to new demands; a high sense of urgency
• Demonstrated leadership in delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional teams
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems and other related systems and processes
• Ability to conduct analyses and translate results to easily digestible communications including messages and presentations
• Light to moderate travel
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 10 years’ experience leading creation and development of enablement programs. MBA preferred.
• Experience leading process, program and tool design, re-engineering, and change management skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high performance teams.
