Expedia’s Media Solutions (MeSo) team is looking for an analytical, entrepreneurial, and creative Vice President of Media Product Management to help us grow our global onsite media business. Reporting to the SVP of Media Solutions, you will be responsible for helping lead a team that owns the strategy, roadmap, and development of Expedia Group’s global media product portfolio.
To be successful, you will need to have a data-driven approach to product development, strong communication skills, and an unerring sense of how to balance multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines. You will work closely with engineering, sales, operations, marketing, and finance to ensure that the team executes on its mission to deliver the right ad to the right travel shopper at the right time. You will need to be able to own, manage and analyze a suite of existing media products and identify compelling new opportunities to drive business results and improve the travel shopping experience. As a key leader on the Media Product team, you will need to be an experienced and effective people manager, capable of providing guidance, feedback and direction to an energetic team of media Product Managers.
The position requires working closely with stakeholders across various lines of business and all brands within Expedia Group to build new and improve existing advertising products. As a result, you will need to be a practiced negotiator and a creative problem solver capable of building consensus across a large global organization. Ideally, you are also a confident presenter, comfortable speaking at industry events or talking with clients about how we can partner to achieve their strategic marketing objectives.
What you’ll do:
• Drive the strategy for new and existing media products ranging from desktop display and email and to programmatic and native
• Identify new media opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders to come up with creative and mutually beneficial solutions to business and consumer problems
• Develop and lead a team of experienced media product managers
• Build business cases to support new initiatives as well as prioritizing the road map for the next set of media products and feature enhancements
• Lead cross-functional teams to conceive and develop new product concepts, establish development milestones, and manage the development, implementation and subsequent rollout
• Balance advertiser requirements and consumer experience to build best-in-class ecommerce travel advertising products
• Help determine the most efficient way of delivering ads in a mobile environment based on a range of factors, including ad server performance, page performance, and the user experience
• Manage multiple projects and details without losing site of the ‘big picture’
• Be self-directed and able to move forward in a fast-paced, somewhat ambiguous environment
Who you are:
• 15+ years of relevant work experience in online advertising, business management and/or product development
• Must be well versed and experienced with online advertising preferred, including familiarity with ad serving, targeting, programmatic, native advertising and/or mobile ad experience
• Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor and develop a high performing, geographically dispersed team
• Proven excellence as leader in product management, capable of driving high-impact initiatives that deliver meaningful business results
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated ability to use numbers and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes; experience with financial modeling and statistics is a plus
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong bias for action
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting across all levels of the organization and with external partners
