WeGrow Executive Director of Early Childhood Education
WeGrow is a new initiative by WeWork aiming to revolutionize the way we think about education, with a focus on enabling every human to unleash their superpowers. Our first conscious, entrepreneurial school opened in September 2018 in New York City for ages 3 years old through 4th grade. We are deeply committed to supporting growth in children’s minds, bodies, and souls through an integrated, individualized curriculum that challenges and elevates all aspects of the child.

The Executive Director of Early Childhood Education will be an instrumental team member of our WeGrow Leadership Team and partner with our Early Childhood teachers in upholding the WeGrow values, culture and mission. We seek a passionate leader and lifelong learner with high professional standards, commitment to equally developing a healthy mind, body and soul and enjoys working in a fast paced innovative environment.
Responsibilities
• Understand, promote, and support the mission, vision, and guiding principles of WeGrow
• Manage a team of about 6 Early Childhood teachers who are rooted in child-led and driven learning, personalized and transdisciplinary
• Model a growth mindset to strengthen an inclusive, collaborative and trusting environment for staff in which people can grow and improve
• Champion a school environment that seeks to bring about ethical awareness and inner-values based upon key principles of life from the wisdom cultures that we study
• Collaborate with the WeGrow HQ team and administrative team, provide educational leadership to staff, setting clear expectations for student success, adapting best practices to WeGrow’s needs, and modeling effective teaching
• Partner with the Head of School to maintain a comprehensive and thoughtful coaching and evaluation process, and other professional development, to understand the strengths and needs of staff members and continually work to help all staff reach goals and improve their performance
• Oversee recruiting, screening and hiring processes that attracts a diverse candidate pool and utilizes anti-bias mechanisms
• Ensure existence of effective and frequent communications systems across all stakeholders
• Seek input from all stakeholders on school program and performance through formal and informal structures in order to make positive changes over time while maintaining program continuity and comprehensiveness
• Be available to parents on a regular basis. Keep parents informed of and involved in policy changes at the school. Inspire parent support and cooperation and enlist their efforts to sustain strong school structures
Ideal candidates will have:
• 5 - 10 years of experience in an Early Childhood leadership role
• Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education required
• Experience managing teams of 5 or more individual
• Experience in Montessori Toddler programs, Reggio Emilia and/or Bank Street preferred
• Experience working with parents and families with early childhood kids
• Excited and energized by evolving and innovating on an Early Childhood Model
• High levels of attention to detail
• Must be located or willing to relocate within commuting distance of NYC
• On a path of personal growth with a desire to make a massive impact on the world
