Director, Product Management - Sale Cloud
Job Details
The Sales Cloud product team is looking for a Director, Product Management Sale Cloud with a track record of driving new product capabilities from initial concept to successful delivery and market adoption to join our team. This role will define and implement the strategy for services, products and tools for the Activity Platform to power salesforce.com's award winning Sales Cloud product and extend our market leadership. This role calls for a strong, proactive leader capable of autonomously driving multiple projects in parallel and interested in delivering productivity, communications and intelligence solutions to our customers.
The Unified Activity Platform drives productivity by providing a complete view of customer activities and relationships. This role is a senior one, with responsibility for defining the intelligence products on Activity Platform and exposed across Sales Cloud. This role will define a broad range of new products, spanning conversational intelligence on email, voice, and other communication, and the next generation of predictive CRM assistants and automation. In addition to defining the intelligence products, the role will lead the process of aggregating new streams of data to be processed by these new products. This role will work to bring these capabilities to new market segments and customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Understand the market - learn the market and the Salesforce ecosystem, understand what customers use our Platform for today, identify future customer needs and define a direction for runtimes and languages.
• Define product strategy - develop product strategy for the Activities Platform. Work effectively with customers, partners, executives, stakeholders, and our technology and product teams to build a well defined and integrated roadmap to deliver on the strategy.
• Know your customer - develop deep and trusted relationships with key customers and use the knowledge of their business process and requirements to drive product strategy and the prioritization of work. Work closely with customers at every phase of the product lifecycle to seek feedback and validation and establish beach heads of customer success.
• Champion the strategy - work with go-to-market teams, product marketing, sales, services, and enablement teams to build a program that establishes thought leadership in the market for the Salesforce. Establish yourself as a thought leader.
• Drive product lifecycle - collaborate with engineering, user experience, documentation, infrastructure and go-to-market teams to drive the product lifecycle from concept to customer success. Define the backlog for engineering teams, write the user stories and do whatever it takes to fuel the productivity and effectiveness of the engineering teams.
• Think Strategically - knows what it takes to give Sales Cloud's Activities Platform the competitive advantage. Operates both strategically and tactically in a dynamic environment. Develops relevant, sustainable solutions. Aligns the right resources to the task at hand; foresees and plans around obstacles.
• Make Smart Decisions - Analyzes and synthesizes broad, cross-business or cross-discipline information that leads to breakthroughs or significant insight.
• Drive Results - Attacks everything with drive and energy with an eye on both the bottom line and customer success.
Required Skills/Experience
• Equivalent of 5+ years of product management or similar experience in enterprise software, cloud computing, internet technology, or a related field.
• Creative thinker who thrives on solving challenging problems with analytical thinking skills.
• Strong technical abilities to hold your own in debates with technical architects and engineers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership and handling sensitive customer situations.
• Experience making significant changes to mission critical pieces of the software stack.
• Be comfortable and compelling delivering a product demonstration, including the ability to tell a story and communicate business value in addition to product features and benefits.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lead and work autonomously.
Preferred qualifications
• CRM and/or salesforce automation experience a very strong plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical disciplines.
• Experience working with email technologies, such as G Suite, Exchange servers, or Outlook clients.
• Basic comprehension of common platform technologies, such as ElasticSearch, Cassandra, AWS S3, Kafka, Storm, & Spark.
• Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum.
