Purpose
It's an amazing time to be working at Box, especially for product managers. Box is at a unique point where we have a large influence on the market and impact to our customers, yet are still at a size where individual product managers play a meaningful role in driving that impact. With millions of users on our platform, each product manager has an opportunity to ship products that will change the way people work.
We are looking for a product manager to lead all aspects of Box Search. You'll work closely with our engineers, product managers, and customer success teams to build out the functionality necessary to power the new experiences that customers use to find their content.
Why the team needs you
Box is growing fast. Real fast. Every business in the world is looking to modernize the way that they work. As the leader in cloud content management, Box is the only company that can help enterprises transform how people work together.
Search is critical to Box. As enterprises store more and more content in Box, users look to Search to find their content. We need you to help make Search more intelligent. Historically, Search was primarily semantic; the search ranking was derived by Solr alone based on text in the document and metadata. Now, we're incorporating user activity data from the Box Graph. We're also making content discoverable that was previously unsearchable using Box Skills.
Why you need Box
This is a product area with lots of attention so you will be highly visible and engaged across the business. On one day, you'll be talking to the IT team that drives hundreds of thousands of Box users at a Fortune 500 company. The next, you'll be working with developers on prioritization of infrastructure projects. You will have lots of ownership, with interaction with many VP+ individuals to deliver the search product.
Who you are
You've developed products before and bring a technical rigor to the role. You love getting into the nitty-gritty details of technical infrastructure and solving for both customer value and cost. You care deeply about how your products materially make your customers' lives better. You understand the business and the analytics/metrics that drive success. Most of all, everyday you work collaboratively with design, analytics, and engineering team members to bring amazing products to market. Expect to be hands on as a creator, evangelist, and product manager, defining our Search story and laying out the infrastructure to power internal and external teams.
