Job Description
About the Role
The people who use Uber have many specialized financial needs. These range from basic requirements such as facilitating payments between Riders and Drivers, to far more complex requirements such as assisting a restaurant owner or fleet owner to manage their financial relationship with Uber. We have already launched several products in the space including Uber Visa and Uber Gift Cards, but we have only begun to tap the potential opportunity.
We're looking for an experienced data science leader to lead and grow a Bay Area based team to help develop this exciting suite of products.
What You'll Do / What You'll Need / Bonus Points / About the Team
What You’ll Do
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering and other technical and business teams to develop Uber’s financial products
• Provide thought leadership in building the product roadmap, and steer projects from ideas to execution
• Recruit and lead a team of 6+ Data Scientists and Product Analysts
• Guide the team as they create and interpret data sets, conduct and analyze experiments, build robust models for analyzing product economics, and develop machine learning models to improve product performance.
• Provide a fun and collaborative work environment that fosters innovation
What You’ll Need
• 8 Minimum Years of Experience with Financial Products
About the Team
Your team of data scientists will partner with Product and Engineering to advance actionable data insights and solutions from Uber's large datasets. We work on every aspect of the product - whether it's exploratory research to understand user behavior, or modeling the economics of financial products, or running experiments to optimize untapped areas of growth, or developing machine learning models to recommend options to our users.
