We are looking for a smart, talented, and experienced leaders with a track record of identifying and solving strategic problems and driving growth.
The Director of Strategic Initiatives will lead the identification, development and execution of transformational projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and strategic position of Salesforce. You’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across the organization and globally. This position will collaborate with senior executives across the company to set the strategic direction for these transformational initiatives and guide the execution. The ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a variety of teams and personalities is essential.
This position will report to the SVP of Strategic Business Operations. The role will work closely with senior leadership across the organization and will be supporting individuals that will be leading several high-profile initiatives, where rapid test and learn, detailed learning agendas, strong financial modeling, and new partnership models will be important.
Position Responsibilities:
• Identify opportunities, strategies and process improvements and develop priority project lists to meet long term goals for growth and profit. Business case development and strategic analysis. Create formal processes to identify and capture value from business-improvement opportunities. Design implementation roadmap and clear KPIs/SLAs for future tracking and governance
• Provide strategic thought leadership to advise and structure initiatives, identify key themes, develop mitigation plans, and make connections of opportunities across functional areas and regions
• Oversee and manage a variety of highly prioritized projects, as well as complete ad-hoc projects, requests, and analysis
• Provide strategic assessments and operating reviews of new and current business ventures and operations
• Work with both department and C-level leadership to drive their agendas and partner with them to identify, evaluate, prioritize and deliver strategic initiatives across the business.
• Drive internal approval and consensus building
• Work with SVP Strategic Business Operations to set, manage and execute quarterly and annual business goals
• Work closely with Finance to develop and track program business case results and metrics, and to incorporate targets into budget
• Build a work environment that promotes Ohana, teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, performance feedback / management, and employee satisfaction
Experience/Skills Required:
• Strong technical, business and finance acumen
• Diverse background that cuts across functions and business challenges
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to convey complex ideas in a strategic and concise fashion
• Exceptional people skills; ability to engage and influence people across teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a portfolio of assignments and drive complex strategic projects to completion with minimal supervision
• Proven client management skills, including ability to interact with and influence senior company executives (SVPs, VPs, CFOs, Presidents, and C-Level Officers)
• High EQ and IQ. Solution oriented, data driven, learning mindset
• Embodies trust. Must have high ethical standards and ability to exercise sound judgment
• Champions diversity of team, thought, and opinion
• Advanced knowledge of SAAS industry issues and concerns
• Ability to travel 25% (domestic & international)
Experience/Skills Desired:
• 8+ years management consulting experience at a top tier strategy consulting firm
• On the ground experience with SAAS (preferred) or high tech
• MBA Degree preferred
• Demonstrated cross-functional communication and relationship building skills with Senior Leadership and C-Level
