ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role will be provide financial strategic leadership to 3 pillars of the Distribution Finance side of Salesforce.org: Bookings & Revenue, Sales Finance, and Customer Success Finance. The role is a leadership role in the F&S team, managing a team, and working directly w/ the VP of Finance and Director of Finance, to strategically plan the operations and deliverables of the team. This position will be based at our headquarters in San Francisco and reports directly to the VP Finance & Strategy. Given how collaborative and cross functional Salesforce.org is, this is a very high profile role that is visible across the leadership team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the Annual Planning process to set goals for Bookings, Revenue, Attrition, COGS, OpEx, and Headcount. Work collaboratively with VP Business Partners to ensure buy-in across all business sectors within budget parameters.
• Present financials and strategic insight around business trends and investment opportunities to the executive level management, including the CFO, VP of Finance, and VP of Sales and CSG.
• Lead the quarterly bottom’s up re-forecasting process for all 3 Distribution Finance pillars. This includes working collaboratively with VP Business Partners and F&S.
• Provide clear and concise monthly variance analysis, reporting to VP Business Partners and attend monthly meetings to ensure they are aware of the OpEx trends, T&E trends, headcount, and remaining budget.
• Manage the Global Revenue portfolio across several revenue streams. Report on monthly variances and manage the Revenue Models which are used to forecast and plan for short term and long range Revenue goals.
• Provide mentorship and leadership development to the team (internally and externally), driving and uplifting professional and personal growth.
• Manage relationship with Salesforce.com F&S business partners regarding Revenue cross charges and Expense cross charges. Maintain standing quarterly touchpoints and reports to ensure clear visibility.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners across the Distribution team. This includes Sales Management, Sales Strategy, and Customer Success teams.
• Ensure close collaboration with Product Marketing teams to clearly understand which new products will count towards Bookings and drive more Revenue for Salesforce.org.
• Be an ambassador to the F&S team for the Salesforce.org “Aloha spirit” and keep the team motivated, driven, and aligned w/ the team’s momentum.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree required, MBA or CPA preferred
• 15 + years of FP&A or business finance experience, including experience at a global company
• Audit or accounting experience preferred or Financial Statement (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) acumen a must
• Analytical, problem-solving, advanced business acumen mindset, including demonstrated ability to think creatively and be resourceful within context of financial modeling, analytics, and strategic presentations
• Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously and under tight timelines; flexibility to adjust on the fly to new demands; self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
• Experience managing a team of finance professionals. Experience motivating and driving professional development conversations.
• Expertise in building complex decision support models in Excel
• Experience with financial systems (Anaplan, Workday, TM1) preferred
• Team player – ability to work collaboratively within the group and across functions
• Superb work ethic and integrity – enthusiastic, self-starter and proactive
