Role Description
The Director of Revenue Accounting is responsible for overseeing GAAP revenue as well as the Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections functions at Dropbox spanning teams across the US and Dublin, Ireland. This role leads all aspects of global revenue accounting, operations, and reporting, including establishing scalable revenue processes, global policies, procedures, and key metrics, as well as technical analyses. The role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Responsibilities
• Own revenue recognition process for Dropbox revenue streams, ensuring revenue, accounts receivables, and commissions are recognized in accordance with GAAP and applicable accounting policies
• Own CFO reporting materials related to all order to cash related accounts and assist in preparing various SEC disclosures for financial statement close process.
• Recruit, train, and manage a high performing team in the US and Dublin, Ireland.
• Assess various revenue recognition based technical matters, document positions and present conclusions to external auditors.
• Collaborate with cross functional leadership including sales, legal, deal strategy, and FP&A to ensure strategic alignment on business initiatives and specific transactions, system enhancements, process streamlining
• Own and iterate on order to cash system and process improvement roadmap to maintain industry best in class processes and efficiencies
• Develop and maintain the Company’s revenue recognition, costs to obtain a contract, and accounts receivable policies.
• Own SOX compliance implementation for order to cash areas
• Contribute to ad hoc projects (M&A, new accounting pronouncements, etc.) as needed.
Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of revenue recognition experience with a focus on global accounting related processes and process improvement/ automation
• CPA required
• Big 4 experience strongly preferred
• Strong analytical skills, ability to develop action plans and follow through to completion
• Execution-focused, with the ability to take individual responsibility for delivering quality work in a timely manner
• Experienced in leading a team and implementing process improvements
• Systems experience with Oracle Cloud and Salesforce
