Director Marketing – Editor in Chief of Sales Connect
What You'll Do
The Editor-in-Chief of Sales Connect will be responsible & accountable for the strategy and execution of the curation of content that is published to the Sales Connect platform.
You will lead collaboration across a diverse, cross-functional team of stakeholders to develop and deliver a content and publishing strategy that is focused on delivering high-quality content, at the right time, to our sellers. This role requires a real passion for leadership, marketing impact and driving change. You will change how content is curated and published in Sales Connect and will enable the overall sales transformation.
• You'll ensure all published content is high-quality and highly impactful to our sellers. Increase the effectiveness and productive of sales teams by delivering the right content at the right time in the sales journey.
• You'll create standards & guidelines for content development; partner with content owners on content development & publishing.
• You will strive to simplify the user experience by driving consistency across all aspects (Sales Hubs, content, etc) of the Sales Connect platform.
• You will develop & implement a governance process for publishing, curating, and promoting content on Sales Connect and other seller engagement platforms.
• You will construct a framework for measuring the utilization and efficacy of the content and the impact it is having on the business.
• You'll establish a long-term strategy for leveraging content as a part of a holistic seller engagement and enablement frameworks.
• You will integrate content curation & editorial strategies with Cisco.com and other digital properties
• You will partner with leadership across sales, partner, training/enablement, product & digital marketing, product management, and Customer Experience to deliver a unified approach to content & seller enga
• You will work with a complex eco system of internal and external stakeholders including Field Sales & Marketing, Sales Training & Enablement, Product Marketing, Product Management, Customer Experience and Digital Marketing.
• You will drive consistency across the Sales Hubs with a common design and purge under-utilized content
• You will align content with the seller & customer journeys, measure content efficacy and impact, integrate with other seller activation platforms and increase user engagement
• You'll manage a team of 4-5 resources including content curators, data operations and project management specialists
• This team will drive savings of approximately $5-10 million over time in content creation costs and drive overall efficiency gains for sales makers
Who You Are
• You have 10-12 years in senior leadership roles
• You have 5+ years in a sales role; deep understanding of both the sales & customer journeys
• You have 5+ years leading high-performing teams in a highly-matrixed environments
• Proven record in building and developing content & messaging that is highly impactful to sellers and customers.
• Experience working across product marketing & sales training organizations to develop cross-functional resource allocation strategies
• Proven ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate a vision (both written and verbally).
• Adept at balancing short-term pressures without losing sight over the overall long-term goals.
• Strong leadership & interpersonal skills; ability to lead cross-functionally through influence
