What You'll Do
The Data Center NAE Marketing team is looking for a dynamic Enterprise marketing professional who can manage both product marketing and product management functions with a primary focus on product marketing. The role offers a unique opportunity to take a nascent product with enormous potential and achieve significant commercial success in Enterprise DC and Cloud networking space, while fundamentally transforming the network operations space. Network operations a multi-billion dollar revenue opportunity market that is ripe for disruption. This role is a "face of the product" role with huge customer and sales visibility. The ideal Candidate should have experience with launching new technology product in the market, establish update and execute go to market strategy, develop messaging, develop collateral, work with analysts and press, manage marketing and sales events, assist sales from deal inception to deal close, track product revenues, work with Cisco sales partners and be able to leverage various existing marketing and sales functions in a company such as Cisco to their advantage. Candidate should have sufficient technical depth in terms of understanding Data Center Switching space including SDN solutions and EVPN solutions. Knowledge of IT Network Operations is a huge plus. Knowledge of API driven operations tooling is a plus. The candidate should also have product management skills and be able to take on feature development with engineering especially focused on north bound integrations with technology partners. Primary focus of the role will be product marketing and secondary focus will be product management.
The role is a cross matrix role where the candidate will work with BU product management and marketing professionals, TMEs, Cisco CMO, Sales leadership and sales teams, Engg, and Cisco Operations teams. The role offers visibility at Cisco executive level and the candidate should be comfortable working with execs within the company and with customers. The role is a senior role but the candidate should be comfortable being an individual contributor, rolling up their sleeves and working at any level needed to drive commercial success. Ability to be a team player is extremely important. Ability to take the team on the journey towards commercial success, to learn from the team and in turn provide learning to the team is a must. The candidate will work closely and under the direction of the Head of Product and Marketing of Cisco Network Assurance Engine.
Who You'll Work With
Be part of small, agile, product team that has built a new product offering, the "Network Assurance Engine" (NAE), in a net new market space of Network Assurance/Verification for the Data Center and Cloud. The product is aimed towards realizing Cisco's goal of Intent Based Networking in the Data Center. The product is part of Cisco's multi-billion dollar Data Center Switching Group.NAE uses the power of mathematical modeling techniques and continuous verification to transform network operations from reactive to proactive. NAE allows network operators to predict the impact of changes, to verify networking wide behavior of the entire data center and to assure network security and compliance.
NAE is a fundamental innovation built ground up in Cisco by an eclectic team comprising of highly successfully Technology Founders, Ph.Ds. from top universities, Distributed Computing engineers from highly successful SaaS companies, Cisco Advanced Services and Cisco Technical Services professionals.
Who You Are
-Launch product and product releases in the market (on-perm and SaaS)
-Develop and execute Go to Market Strategy working with product managers
-Develop business collateral (decks, whitepapers, videos) working with CMO
-Develop and update sales training and work with Cisco sales training teams to launch training
-Assist with complete selling lifecycle and manage technical and business wins in critical deals working with Cisco direct sales and based on this learning develop and update sales play books to be used by Sales Engineers, Sales Account Managers and Product Sales Specialists
-Assist with above for Cisco Partner sales but leveraging Cisco Partner Support teams
-Assist with managing events and organizing specific sessions in Cisco Events
-Work with CMO on Analyst and Press relationships and present as needed to Analysts and Press
-Develop a framework to track deals, revenues, discount patterns and leverage global selling understanding in updating the GTM and selling strategy
-Keep up to date on sales compensation plans and be able a strong advocate for the product to incentivize selling by sales teams.
-Assist product managers with pricing and bundling
-Present in Customer EBCs. Be comfortable presenting to IT Network Architects, Engineers, Operations teams, Execs and CIOs
-Be able to travel globally as needed to meet customers, launch product, train sales and partners
-Work with Cisco Technology partners and as needed act as product manager for product integration with such partners including managing requirements for NAE apps on Service NOW, Splunk etc
-As needed take on additional product management responsibilities on product areas beyond north bound integrations.
Qualifications
-BS, MS or Ph.D degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineers
-MBA Preferred but not a must
-Over 5+ years of experience in engineering development
-Over 7+ years’ experience in product management and product marketing with at least 3 years focused heavily on product marketing with the skill mentioned in the Responsibilities section
-Experience in product management and/or product marketing must be Enterprise or Service Provide Networking space consisting of switching, routing, network security, or a combination is a must.
-Solid technical understanding of networking at Layer 2 (vlan, vpc) and Layer 3 (routing) levels is a must
-Experience in building/marketing Network Operations tools is a huge plus
-Experience or understanding of at least one industry SDN solutions and/or BGP EVPN is a must (e.g. Cisco ACI, VMWare NSX, Arista EVPN, Juniper EVPN/Contrail)
-Experience working in product marketing in Cisco is a plus
-Experience in Data Center Networking Space is a plus
-Experience in building and marketing Hardware Switching platforms is a plus
-Understanding of Application Delivery Controllers (F5/Citrix/AVI) and Network Firewalls (E.g. Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Juniper SRX) is a plus
-Understanding of compliance (PCI, HIPAA etc.) is a plus
-Understanding and or experience with Cloud Networking (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
-Understanding of REST APIs and building API based solutions is a plus
-Experience working with UI/UX teams on data visualizations and network operations products is a plus
