THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite created a dedicated music division whose mission is to build the world’s most powerful live music platform. It will enable music venues and promoters to sell more tickets, streamline operations, and increase revenue. We’re looking for an experienced leader to drive the marketing vision for our new music solution, implement client acquisition and retention strategies, maintain a sustainable and defensible competitive advantage in the market, and evolve our brand.
THE TEAM
Our music marketing team is part of Eventbrite’s music division. We’re responsible for marketing initiatives that support client acquisition and retention and for helping our clients promote their events to potential ticket buyers. We develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive product adoption, lead client communications and field marketing initiatives that build our brand, and provide strategic marketing support to help our clients sell more tickets.
THE ROLE
This is a high-visibility position on Eventbrite’s Music Leadership Team, responsible for delivering a marketing strategy to defend our position as the dominant technology provider to middle market venues and promoters, while accelerating our move upstream to serve larger facilities and events. You’ll oversee a high-performing 7-member team spanning product marketing, marketing services (a digital marketing and website development "agency" that helps our clients improve their marketing performance), and consumer marketing. You’ll be a key marketing thought leader for our business, a champion for the development of best-in class marketing solutions, and partner to our communications, brand, and demand generation teams.
Successful candidates will be skilled in vision and strategy, but also comfortable being hands-on and diving into details when needed. You will have successfully evolved a company’s marketing strategy through multiple growth chapters and worked closely with partners in Sales, Product, Operations, and Finance to deliver cross-functional initiatives that meaningfully impacted the company and culture. Experience developing and motivating a great team is a must.
YOU WILL
• Drive Eventbrite Music's overall marketing strategy, goals, and budget
• Partner with Eventbrite’s Brand team to evolve the music brand, guidelines, and standards
• Set a unified marketing communications strategy across owned, earned, and paid media
• Drive pipeline for the Sales team through targeted demand-generation and lead nurturing in partnership with Eventbrite’s Demand Generation team
• Develop sales assets, tools, and training programs to increase our win rate in strategic segments
• Define product messaging to differentiate Eventbrite and support strategic narratives
• Take client and consumer products to market and drive awareness and usage
• Drive client retention through marketing services that span digital marketing and website development
• Accelerate the development of data and analytics capabilities to better inform decisions
THE SKILL SET
• 10+ years of experience in senior marketing leadership roles at mid-market or public technology or e-commerce companies
• Expertise in corporate marketing, product marketing, and communications (internal and external), with a heavy emphasis on B2B messaging
• Strong people management experience
• Significant experience scaling sales enablement functions and metrics
• Track record of successful product and feature launches in collaboration with Sales, Product, Operations, and HR
• Ability to develop and articulate a vision and strategy that inspires a high-performing team
• Ability to partner, communicate, and develop plans across teams and business units
• High on confidence, low on ego
• Knowledge of and practical experience with the live events and music industry
