We’re looking for self-motivated problem-finders who can help us craft and improve customer experiences on a global scale for multiple brands, across devices and platforms, in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
As a Director of UX, you will lead a team through the discovery and framing of problems, the alignment of design strategy and experience requirements, and the implementation of entire end-to-end experiences to improve Expedia’s products and services for millions of our travelers and partners worldwide, every day.
Who you are:
• A storyteller and influencer who connects strategy and vision with a clear plan to realize, execute, and iterate on it
• A product thinker and coach who creates business value through a deep understanding of the customer, their needs, and the jobs to be done in the product
• A design leader that creates teams obsessed with the details: content, typography, color, grid systems, and well-crafted animation/transitions
• An advocate for web standards and heuristics, efficient and beautiful design systems, and native and adaptive design techniques for mobile
• A leader and manager who creates a culture of continuous growth, exceptional quality, inclusivity, and trust
• A UX Design leader with 10+ years in the field, people-management and team-development experience, a degree in a relevant field (human-computer interaction, graphic design, interaction design, computer science, or communications), and a portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web and mobile applications
What you’ll do:
• Inspire and lead teams of designers, content strategists, and researchers in the creation of delightful, easy-to-use experiences that are grounded in observations, research, and analytics, informed by competitive and innovative experiences, and validated through testing
• Drive program-level experiences that span customer touchpoints, devices, and platforms, meeting the needs of a diverse group of travelers and partners to drive business results
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to align on problems and product direction, evaluate success criteria, and prioritize an efficient roadmap
• Mentor, grow, and recruit UX talent and advocate for user-centered design practices
