About the Role
An Events Associate is the primary point of contact for day of Meetup events and acts as the local marketing coordinator for the Meetups @ WeWork program.
Goals & Objectives
Create an energized, lively community by hosting Meetup events and bringing people together in real life. Engaging the WeWork community by focusing on their personal interests, hobbies, and fulfilling their desire to connect with others.
Duties & Responsibilities
Front Desk
This role will include approximately 20 hours per week, with majority of them at our Front Desk. Although there can be busy periods, there is some time while stationed at the Front Desk to complete Meetup-related administrative tasks. Front Desk duties include:
• Welcome Meetup organizers and attendees and assist them as necessary with the sign-in process
• Answer general questions about WeWork and the amenities in the space
• Assist organizers and attendees with conference room booking, restroom locations, AV setup, and other general requests
• Refer attendees to appropriate organizer of the Meetup group
• Occasionally conduct location tours if any attendees or organizers are interested
Local Outreach
During the down time at the desk, this role will focus on increasing the number of Meetups hosted in this building and gathering member feedback on content. Local outreach duties include:
• Connect with local Meetup organizers and request they host at WeWork
• Communicate with WeWork members to understand what kind of Meetups they want to attend
• Print and update marketing material for each night of Meetup events
• Empower WeWork members to become organizers
• Attend and participate in City Organizer Meetups and train organizers to host the best quality Meetups and handle building logistics
Experience and Requirements
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to connect well with people; warm, approachable, and patient
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy
• Passion and understanding for WeWork & Meetup’s mission and values
• Proficient in basic computer skills
