WeWork is looking for a Fixed Assets Accounting Manager who will be responsible for leading the team and owning high-level responsibilities, including providing solutions when problems arise and liaising across multiple groups.
The Fixed Assets Accounting team works cross-functionality with Construction, Procurement, and Finance teams across WeWork. For this reason, the Accounting Manger is expected to be a true We team player.
Job Functions:
• Perform reviews and approvals over construction project accruals and spending, as well as associated balance sheet accounts, on a regular basis
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of applicable ledger accounts through (1) leading month-end close procedures and preparation of financial statement items in a timely manner, and (2) performing monthly analytics on accrued construction costs and related depreciation expenses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Develop and manage a team
• Partner cross-functionally across multiple departments
• Communicate regularly with the construction management teams on updated project status, outstanding commitments, and current spend levels
• Work as intermediary for FP&A, CFO, CAO, and other teams to understand the GL for leasehold improvements, furniture & fixture and equipment accounts
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and new processes when they arise while maintaining proper controls
• Other assorted duties as they arise
Job Requirements:
• 6+ years experience in public and/or private accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• CPA preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office experience
• Working knowledge of Workday is a plus
• Knowledge of construction projects phases
• Experience with GAAP, as well as new compliance metrics
• You are highly organized, collaborative, task-oriented, and efficient in completing various tasks with overlapping deadlines, hands-on
• You are analytical, diligent, and you value the accuracy of data and information
• You exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate clearly and concisely with coworkers at various levels and across different departments
