The Akamai Information Technology (IT) organization is comprised of industry leading professionals dedicated to owning and driving the innovation & transformation of Akamai’s Corporate Infrastructure, Applications, Development and Security for our customers and stakeholders. Information Technology manages all aspects of the program lifecycle as well as the coordination and delivery of key cross-organizational strategic programs, including prioritization, definition, planning, success metrics and ongoing delivery for these initiatives.
The CIO Management Organization is seeking an experienced, driven, results-oriented Director of business management & operations to support the leadership team. The role will involve regular interaction with senior management across IT, Operations stakeholders, and Finance & HR Business partners.
As a Director Business & Compliance at Akamai you will be responsible for:
• Driving IT partnerships with business leads and other key partners in the development and execution of the IT transformation compliance
• Designing, developing and supporting the analysis of the IT performance metrics
• Create and update a fully operational project plan with key milestones and success measures
• Working with senior stakeholders to maintain a robust controls environment
• Defining and maintaining the CIO operations framework to streamline compliance & controls processes
• Identifying opportunities for organizational linkages to ensure tight alignment and optimal synergy between IT groups
• Work collaboratively with the CIO community to share insights, impacts and best practices
• Developing and generating reports and presentations, tracking operational initiatives, and working with support partners of the organization to improve and drive business decisions
• Develop collaborative working relationships across CIO, CIO -1, Finance, and HR teams while providing business value and transparency
• Providing mentoring, coaching, career development and day to day management of work to a small team
Required Education and Experience
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
Required Skills
• Minimum +10 years of experience in information systems, project management, and/or process management with a focus on Business & IT Operations Management
Desired Skills
• The ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders
• Must be proactive with a drive to better processes and resolve outstanding issues
• Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail, an eye for spotting trends, articulate in written and verbal communication, and is able to present and support their own conclusions to senior audiences

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• A leader who is also a good team player with a professional attitude
• Experience working with and facilitating virtual teams
• Must be able to design business reporting and analysis that is clear, concise, and actionable
• Ability to work effectively with other lines of business, finance teams, and technology partners
• Demonstrated history of independently and proactively driving initiatives forward
• Expert in business process, operations, and metric definition best practices
• Experience with various project planning tools JIRA/Confluence, Google, Microsoft Project, SmartSheets
• Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technologies
