About the Role
Uber is looking for a Director of International Rewards. Our exponential growth brings us unique challenges - join us as we build innovative and creative solutions while helping to transform one of the fastest growing companies in history. You'll serve as a key leader of the broader global People Operations team and interact regularly with the People team and business leaders. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic comp professional with a knack for getting things done. We'll need you to have both strategic and hands-on experience, ideally in a mix of entrepreneurial and large-scale environments. This position is a great opportunity to provide vision and direction around strategic compensation program delivery.
The ideal candidate thrives in a very fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Our compensation team is currently based out of our San Francisco global headquarters. However, this would be overseeing a large team globally distributed across our regional offices.
What You'll Do / What You'll Need / Bonus Points / About the Team
What you will do
• Lead Uber’s global Benefits function (US and international) and Compensation functions (outside the US) to effectively design, implement and manage the compensation and benefits strategy, philosophy, programs, policies, and initiatives.
• Oversee International benchmarking strategies, multinational pooling arrangement and international broker oversight.
• Create an exceptional employee experience by championing unique benefit offerings and perks and always operate with a global mindset.
• Hire, develop, coach, mentor, and manage a team of total rewards professionals
• Work with regional counterparts to increase employee understanding of benefit programs by communicating programs clearly and concisely; translating complex data and/or benefits information into easily understood terms.
• Manage annual program budgets.
• Keep current on market trends, business challenges, and priorities by gathering competitive market data and networking with industry peers.
• Partner with the VP Total Rewards and Business Leaders to assess, develop, and design new and existing executive compensation programs
• Build collaborative relationships and provide consultative advice to managers and HR business partners on total rewards strategy (e.g. promotions/transfers, job offers, relocations) and policy and guideline interpretation
• Lead the development of the health and welfare benefits strategy and direct the design, implementation, communication and cost control of health and welfare benefit programs for employees globally
• Develop training programs to educate leaders, managers, and colleagues on the company’s compensation and benefits programs
• Communicate effectively across the organization and develop strategic partnerships with Executive Leadership, Legal, and Finance teams.
What you will need
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA or advanced certification (CCP, CBP, CEP or SPHR) preferred
• 12+ years of experience in broad-based compensation, executive, and incentive plan strategy, design, and administration with proven experience designing and implementing executive compensation plans
• Leadership skills balanced with a willingness to play a 'hands-on' role with key projects
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills required to effectively communicate total rewards strategies at all levels, from administrative to the C-Suite
• Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing environment
• Global experience in multiple countries
