Sr. Director - Product Owner, Product Data Science
Department Overview - Product Data Science
The Data Intelligence (DI) team is made up of data scientists, engineers, and analysts who are dedicated to driving product and distribution strategy with data-driven insights. The PDS team works with executives, product managers, designers, developers, user researchers, marketers, customer success, and sales team members across all Cloud businesses to discover new opportunities for growth and optimization, drive data-informed product strategy, and create data product experiences and actionable insights that enable our stakeholders to maximize product adoption and revenue.
Responsibilities:
The Product Owner, Product Data Science will report to the VP, Data Science Apps. In this role you will be empowered to own and develop a wide range of products which build upon the vast amount of Sales, Product Utilization, and Marketing data Salesforce.com has available. You will create AI driven products that, drive adoption health of the product, drive strategic management of the Sales pipeline and whatever else you dream up!
You will work hand-in-hand with your team of data scientists, engineers, analysts and designers to develop and deploy applications that have an impact on the business. If you have a strong business focus, a solid background in statistics and data science, and a proven track record of implementing products powered by machine learning, then this is the perfect role for you. In this role you will:
• Build the vision and lead the delivery of AI driven data products that drive actionable insights across Salesforce Cloud Businesses.
• Represent Product Data Science’s executive customers to the teams, challenging the teams to pursue the development of applications that most efficiently meet business goals
• Lead cross-functional projects to develop and implement new machine learning driven applications and process improvements.
• Maintain the backlog for each application, working with the project’s sponsoring customer to ideate and prioritise tasks, and track the status of those tasks through to completion.
• Aligning stakeholders across Salesforce to pave the way for application deployment
• Build consensus among cross-functional partners and accelerate decision making
• Evaluate and continuously use the latest technologies, tools and solutions in the field of AI.
Required Skills:
• You have a Ph.D or MS in Statistics, Machine Learning, or a closely related discipline
• 5+ experience in Data Science including 2+ years in project or product management
• Have experience with requirements gathering and analysis of issues
• You have managed complex, enterprise scale projects
• You know how to define project scope, timeline, cost and risk, including building business cases
• Have experience in a fast paced, agile development environment
• A proven track-record of developing products that are powered by machine learning
• Understand why simplicity is important and good enough is not a cop out
• Innovative, you find that unique viewpoint to solve problems that make others run and cover
