The Social Media Manager
will be responsible for leading Flatiron School’s social media efforts to increase brand awareness, impressions, and engagement. This person will support the acquisition of new customers and prospects while strengthening relationships with and maximizing the value of existing customers. This person will also ensure content is on-brand, message-aligned, and support broader awareness building goals to position Flatiron School as the leader in tech education.
This person will:
• Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
• Generate, edit, publish and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
• Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content
• Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
• Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
• Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
• Collaborate with other departments (admissions, sales etc) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
• Develop monthly reports
• Write on-brand, platform-specific copy to drive engagement from our audience
• Full ownership on the social media accounts, strategy, and performance
• Constantly sync with Flatiron School’s larger marketing team for campaign alignment
• Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
• Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer
• Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications
• Sort and maintain a library of relevant content that can be used across the company
Qualifications
• At least 5+ years of experience within social media community management.
• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and analytics tools.
• Demonstrated participation in a wide variety of social media activities.
• High standard and level of expertise of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent consulting, writing, presentation and communication skills
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and very strong organizational skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with social media monitoring and influencer marketing tools and Photoshop
• Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics
• Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels
• Positive attitude, detail oriented, and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
