What You’ll Do:
You will lead a world-class team that’s delivered award-winning event programs such as The Cisco House at both London and Rio Olympics, the Global Campus at Cisco Live customer conferences, and Cisco’s presence at key industry events such as Mobile World Congress, RSA, Gartner ITXpo and others.
You are an experienced, innovative marketing event leader who can work in partnership with global teams and external agencies to lead the design and delivery of our portfolio of corporate and 3rd party events.
Leadership:
• Provide leadership to define team vision, goals and objectives aligned with CEO/CMO priorities and the Cisco brand.
• Create a forward thinking, distinctive, fun culture through leading by example, mentoring to build teamwork and capability and recognizing people for the business impact and results they deliver.
• Work cross-functionally and collaboratively across Marketing and Communications and CEO/Executive leadership to guide and influence the event planning, program management and execution of the global event portfolio.
• Collaborate with Region and Solutions Marketing teams to address unique in-region event opportunities.
Event marketing expertise:
• Exhibit bold thinking and creativity in delivering digitally enabled, immersive event experiences that educate, motivate, inspire and engage our audiences.
• Drive the integration of the event experience as a channel within the overall customer journey.
• Collaborate with technology demonstration teams to integrate Cisco’s most compelling solutions into the event experience.
• Understand and bring to life Cisco’s brand across all event experiences.
• Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to ensure our event programs are differentiated and industry leading.
Operational excellence:
• Lead operational excellence across all corporate and 3rd party events including event guidelines for GDPR and other security initiatives
• Identify, document and scale best practices to enable consistently high impact, effective event programs.
• Leverage Cisco’s Marketing Tech Stack capabilities to measure and optimize event results.
• Expert budget management
• Develop success metrics against business priorities to ensure that event programs are delivering superior results.
Who You Are:
• 15+ years in event management with experience in strategy, planning and execution of large technology events.
• Bachelors’ Degree; MBA a plus.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills aligned with demonstrable business acumen.
• Experience in a fast paced, high tech environment with flexibility to accommodate an ever-changing live events landscape.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude and a “calm under pressure” demeanor.
• Ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization and with stakeholders and customers. Strong conceptualization of strategy through execution in written communications, reports and in-person presentations.
• Management experience with global responsibilities and an understanding of culturally sensitive norms and behaviors.
• Outstanding negotiation, project/program management and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Cisco Webex, DOMO, SFDC, Eloqua and other marketing tools and applications a plus.
• Travel required (20-25%).
