The Director of Supply Chain, Retailreporting into the VP of Supply Chain and Sourcing and embedded in the Retail Team,oversees the lifecycle of product manufacturing, distribution, purchasing and in-store service, with a special focus on WeWork member-made products in WeWork’s WeMRKT and eCommerce platforms.
The WeMRKT at WeWork is a brand new, in-building amenity, providing WeWork members with a one-stop shop full of healthy and convenient snacks, office essentials and unique gifting solutions. WeWork member-made creations are prominently featured in the WeMRKT, with over 50% of SKUs coming from established and emerging WeWork member companies.

About the Role:
This role is fantastic for anyone with a strong retail background in the supply chain space with a focus on food and beverage. As the primary Supply Chain individual at WeWork focused on WeMKRT, this leadership role will have a global impact on retail by leading, partnering with the WeMKRT team to deliver on successful member product onboarding, COGS goals, inventory days of supply, and order and fulfillment accuracy. This position will start focused on North America roll out and have responsibilities for developing plans for a global expansion.
Supply Chain:
• Aid and support WeWork member makers with a supply chain specific “best practices” guide prior to onboarding
• Work with Retail team to discover and vet best possible snack and gift assortments for the WeMRKT; lead a dialog with members regarding distribution viability
• Work with Retail team to support product quantities as related to a seasonal retail theme, with corresponding promos or activations
Distribution:
• Partner with Director of Logistics to develop and maintain a relationship with third party distribution partners
• Partner with Director of Logistics research and vet third-party distribution partners in new markets, starting with the US, but preparing for international reach
• Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of best distribution partner based on product type and retail outlet need
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, brokers or logistics providers
• Manage and optimize distribution and delivery schedule to minimize costs
• Supports eCommerce platform with oversight of fulfillment distribution process
• Establish and implement quality control standards and practices across distribution channels for all product categories
Fulfillment & Inventory Management:
• Oversee production planning and inventory levels at product source, distribution center, and WeMRKT
• Sets and manages re-order threshold levels in each WeMRKT based on sales volume and special promos
• Develop KPI’s for each product category to ensure appropriate stock levels, turn, and to drive member satisfaction
Experience:
• BS in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics or Related Business Curriculum
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain or distribution management, preferably in emerging food, beverage or retail brands
• 3+ years of experience in account management
• A resourceful and effective decision maker with strong analytical skills
• Must have a strong understanding of inventory, cost of goods, forecasting systems
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, dynamic environment
• Passion for building community and delivering exceptional customer experiences
• Experience in working with perishables goods is a must
