About Us
Lending Club (NYSE: LC) opened in 2007 with one simple mission: create a more efficient, transparent and customer-friendly alternative to the traditional banking system that offers creditworthy borrowers lower interest rates and investors better returns. Today, we’re the world’s largest online credit marketplace, and we’re radically changing the way lending operates. We’re proud of the recognition we’ve received, including being named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, a CNBC Disruptor 50, and one of The World’s 10 Most Innovative Companies in Finance by Fast Company. We’re conveniently located in downtown San Francisco, California.
Who we are looking for
Lending Club is seeking new talent to join its Corporate Strategy team. We are a small, dynamic team, working directly with our CEO and executive team in developing and executing our strategy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, innovation and financial services and a desire to shape the future of these industries.
You have strong opinions about our business model and the P2P lending industry, as well as adjacent technologies. As important, you can quickly change your opinions when faced with compelling new evidence. You are entrepreneurial and have a track record of successfully owning projects from ideation to execution and rollout.
You comfortably handle multiple – and competing – projects at the same time, adjusting your priorities on the fly. You know when to sweat the details and when to back off and look at the bigger picture. Long-term, impact is what motivates you, so you are always thinking about how to move things along.
You have a broad range of excellent communication skills and know how to deploy them in a variety of contexts – from running one-on-one meetings with our C-suite to preparing remarks and exhibits for the largest industry conferences.
Your role
• You will help create and drive Lending Club’s strategy and have significant impact on the company and its future.
• You will own projects end-to-end, developing insightful analyses, communicating clearly and compellingly, and working alongside the rest of the company.
• You will work closely with all the members of our executive team and especially closely with the CEO and the COO. While most of this interaction will come in the context of our strategy work, you will also have opportunities to create content for our major public presentations.
• The executive team relies on you to make smart recommendations and to lead change. Major strategy projects you lead one month will translate to important company actions the next; at each stage, success depends on you.
• You will also get the opportunity to work on major product launches and M&A opportunities when they arise.
Why join?
This is a unique and exciting time in our company and our industry, as we continue to show how technology can and will revolutionize financial services. You will have the opportunity to work on highly rewarding and challenging strategic issues, build unique presentation and executive skills, and have unparalleled access to a public company’s leadership and decision-making process. We’ve delivered huge value to borrowers and investors already, with over $25 billion lent on our platform to over 1.8 million people; we want you to help drive our next phase of growth. Over time, successful strategy team members have gone on to grow into other positions at Lending Club.
