Sourcing Director - Construction
About the Role:
This role is fantastic for anyone wanting to help improve and think creatively about the process of sourcing and supply chain. This role will have a global impact on project delivery and collaboration for our company by evaluating, brainstorming, and implementing effective and efficient sourcing and supply chain processes to improve the quality and timeline of our projects. It will require a commitment to understanding and learning about the past and present processes while proactively molding future processes thereby establishing a clear path for growth and expansion.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and lead commodity teams for construction products and services; serve as lead negotiator and primary point of contact for the supplier(s).
• Develop recommended positions and strategies based upon review and analysis of product needs and market conditions, and in the context of overall WeWork Growth team goals and objectives.
• Coordinate the review of proposed contracts with respect to: financial terms; Inco Terms; intellectual property rights; service terms; WeWork liability; and conformance with WeWork policies and applicable legal guidelines. Seek expert opinions and internal concessions as necessary.
• Evaluate financial and operational (personnel or process-related) effects of proposed contract provisions.
• Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders on matters including: RFP/RFI/RFQ development; bid analysis; justification of selection; procurement, contracts and associated details.
• Deliver information about completed agreements to WeWork partners; publicize agreements in order to achieve greater participation and savings.
• Work with the WeWork team members to coordinate efforts to monitor and encourage compliance with agreements.
• Manage supplier performance against specified static and continuous improvement goals.
• Manage Strategic Sourcing WeWork Connect web-site, monitoring content accuracy and soliciting feedback from various internal stakeholders and supplier audiences for regular improvements.
• Evaluate existing processes as they relate to the sourcing discipline globally, but with a mindset of coordination and inclusion of all design, development and operations disciplines.
• Present known or discovered pain points and bottlenecks to the appropriate stakeholders and build consensus toward a solution.
• Strategize and document modified or new processes.
• Think outside-of-the-box to brainstorm, strategize, document, and implement globally new ideas for efficient and effective processes.
• Establish goals and metrics to track success of implemented process solutions and continually evaluate and adjust as necessary.
• Communicate regularly with the Head of Supply Chain and the Supply Chain Group to provide progress updates and coordinate initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Group team members focused on People and Product.
• Collaborate closely with all Discipline Heads (e.g. Engineering, Interior Design, BIM, Arts & Graphics, Construction, Operations, etc.) and their respective teams.
• Collaborate closely with all Regional Clusters and teams to better understand their process challenges.
• Report to the Head of Supply Chain.
Qualifications:
• 4 year degree or equivalent preferred.
• 10 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience leading globally dispersed teams and developing global and regional sourcing strategies across a broad range of products and services.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work on both short term and long term solutions simultaneously.
• Must be very organized and exhibit excellent time management skills.
• Clear communicator and excellent presenter with oral, written, and graphic presentation skills.
• Ambitious outside-of-the-box thinker willing to reach beyond their comfort zone
• Reliable, focused, and detail oriented.
• Excellent decision-making skills and a highly resourceful problem solver.
• Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a "can do" attitude, but open to feedback and a strong desire to learn.
• Excellent people skills with an ability to build consensus.
• Proficient in documentation.
• Fluent in English.
