This position is based in San Francisco, CA. Reports to Vice President of Corporate & Business Development.

You are strategic, articulate, and entrepreneurial. You will be responsible for ideating, validating and executing on new business models and revenue streams through value capture of existing assets and creation of new assets. You will play a role in driving our acquisition and investment activities, ensuring consistent and rigorous framework and analysis. You will collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams in Firefox and Emerging Technologies, and external partners to deliver against our growth and revenue goals. You will close deals that are strategic to Mozilla’s sustainability and growth targets. You have an astute understanding of market dynamics and trends, a healthy dose of curiosity, and thrive on new challenges. You are passionate about innovation and Mozilla’s mission.
You possess a strong strategy and deal making background, combined with a working knowledge of engineering and product development processes, to enable you to work effectively with our technical teams and partners to drive new revenue streams and close strategic transactions. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think critically about business models and operational requirements, with the ability to build and present compelling business cases and user/partner value propositions and garner consensus and support across the organization. A keen sense of urgency, drive and scrappiness is essential.
What you’ll do:
• Source and generate new business opportunities with goal of balancing user benefits and revenue potential
• Drive new revenue projects from ideation and feasibility testing to commercial launch
• Apply rigorous and consistent framework for evaluating and prioritizing revenue, partner initiatives, acquisition and investment
• Negotiate commercial terms with strategic partners and 3rd party services
• Identify targets and perform strategic and quantitative analysis including due diligence and valuation in support of acquisition and investment activities
• Deliver insights and recommendations to senior executives and operational leads on strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities
• Track and report on emerging revenue models and acquisition candidates
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (products, engineering, legal, open innovation, marketing, policy) to move project forward
• Develop strong relationships with key strategic partners and venture community
Your professional profile:
• Creative, out-of-box thinker, able to get around obstacles with finesse
• Track record of identifying or originating new concept/business model and commercialization of those said model
• Demonstrated ability to structure and negotiate strategic partnerships
• Prior M&A experience, including acquisitions, joint ventures and investments
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Excellent analytical and prioritization skills
• Self-starter and rapid learner who thrives in a fast pace environment
• Mobile and/or enterprise experience a plus
• Previous experience in a product/technical role a huge plus
Your qualifications:
• 8-10 years of experience in business development in a high growth technology company
• 3-5 years of M&A transactional experience (in-house or investment banking)
• BA/BS degree
• Technical experience preferred
