Manager, Supply Chain Sustainability
About the Role
WeWork is currently seeking a Supply Chain Sustainability professional who will work on the Sustainability & Wellbeing team, in close collaboration with the Supply Chain & Sourcing team, to establish and maintain sustainability and health-related standards and reporting on the components of WeWork’s global supply chain. This role is fantastic for anyone wanting to help improve and think creatively about the process of sourcing and supply chain. This role will have a global impact on project delivery and collaboration for our company by evaluating, brainstorming, and implementing effective and efficient sourcing and supply chain processes to improve the quality and timeline of our projects. It will require a commitment to understanding and learning about the past and present processes while proactively molding future processes thereby establishing a clear path for growth and expansion.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has excellent technical and communication skills, who has worked with supply chain and sourcing teams to navigate the complexity of health and sustainability standards, regulations, and opportunities.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Report to the Head of Sustainability & Wellbeing, and informally to the Head of Supply Chain & Sourcing
• Work with cross-organizational teams to establish and implement supply chain requirements and preferences into our global business operations.
• Conduct technical research and analysis on supply chain health and sustainability, with a focus on construction supply chain, but also including food & beverage services, real estate and office operations.
• Assist in onboarding suppliers with WeWork’s standards and protocols on sustainability and wellbeing.
• Educate colleagues on best practices, standards and protocols in sustainable supply chain management.
• Stay up-to-date on global trends, relevant case studies, and the latest research in the field.
• Lead and support reporting of sustainability metrics, data and analysis, for the WeWork supply chain.
• Develop training and communication materials for internal audiences.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience, with preferred experience working on supply chain management, corporate responsibility/sustainability issues, and the building industry.
• 2+ years of specific experience in supply chain management, with a focus on integrating strategic sustainability control points into business processes.
• Experience with sustainability and technical topics such as conflict minerals, responsible sourcing, biodiversity impacts, health impacts, certification systems, and sourcing platforms.
• Ability to influence and to work cross-functionally in support of sustainability team objectives and goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and outstanding relationship building skills at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills, problem-solving, and ability to assess the quality of others’ work, particularly quantitative work.
• Results oriented with an ability to operate multiple projects. A self-starter with superior organizational skills.
• Demonstrated industry experience within the building/construction industry. Familiarity with industry research and trends, and ability to distill substantial and complex data into key insights and relevant takeaways.
• Subject matter expertise in construction and building materials.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and effectively manage and meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines with minimum assistance while maintaining a sense of humor.
• Analytical / research experience a major plus
• Fluency in English
