High-Impact Digital Leadership Role
The Salesforce Digital team is looking for a rock star digital marketing leader who is dynamic, creative, driven to deliver extraordinary outcomes, and has great interpersonal skills. We’re looking to help the company drive 25%+ growth in YoY leads and revenue, and that requires a mix of art and science with ongoing innovation and rigorous execution.
In this role, we are looking for you to help drive innovation in our website -- with a focus on delivering leads for net-new prospects in the SMB segment -- while bringing together dynamic teams across departments and functions to represent one Salesforce. This role will develop digital initiatives that are closely aligned with sales and product marketing leaders to help us attract new customers to accelerate the business and ensure double digit growth into the next century.
Our new Senior Director of Digital Marketingwill join our Digital team working primarily on the Salesforce.com website (and with country websites globally).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Comprehensive Website Portfolio with a Focus on Top-Line Growth
• Collaboratively build, then own responsibility for a full portfolio of digital / website projects and programs, from content activities to technology advances, that will move the website forward to serve customers, capture new prospects, and balance and meet the needs and requirements of myriad internal stakeholders and external constituents.
• Help drive key elements of the digital strategy for the complete visitor experience and for prospect lead-generation across all devices (desktop, mobile).
• Act as a visitor evangelist by leading the continual optimization of the visitor (prospect and customer) journey.
• Maintain the proper balance between lead generation, branding, and user experience, along with site performance, compliance, news / editorial, and other considerations.
• Leverage experience with content marketing, lead generation, case studies, nurture campaigns, paid acquisition, co-marketing, and funnel optimization.
• Develop a deep understanding of existing and prospective users and what drives them to convert into leads, in order to maximize the conversion of quality leads at scale.
• Increase on-page conversion rates (CRO) to improve the efficiency of generated pipeline across the site
• Design and lead A/B/multivariate tests to optimize lead flow that result in measurable improvements to campaigns and outcomes
• Develop and communicate a data-driven content strategy, as an advocate and evangelist able to drive change within a complex interdependent organization
• Be hands-on in content creation and in the development of strategic program elements and of the overarching digital strategy
• Work with the industry’s most innovative product marketing, go-to-market, and sales teams in the world to develop a solid digital plan that builds pipeline and revenue.
• Manage a team of Senior Leaders each with their own team of rock star marketers to develop and deliver breakthrough digital marketing innovation and outcomes.
• Own and manage the budget for people and programs to deliver extraordinary top-line growth through digital sales leads that convert to deals, new customers, solid revenue
Cross Functional Collaboration
• Lead communication and strategic alignment across multiple marketing, product, sales, and related disciplines.
• Act as an internal digital marketing expert to make recommendations and drive strategy.
• Lead and assist in project definition, strategy creation, and accountability of key marketing projects.
• Drive strategic decision making through the use of data, testing, and industry best practices.
• Lead the marketing project assessment and prioritization process, then help ensure the delivery of individual projects within that dynamic portfolio.
Required Skills and Experience:
• 12+ years of overall digital / marketing experience with increasing responsibility, scope, outcomes, business impact.
• 5+ years of direct experience in digital strategy, conversion optimization, digital content, or other fields related to digital marketing.
• 5+ years experience managing teams and producing positive results
• 5+ years experience driving digital demand and pipeline programs
• Experience in other online marketing disciplines, such as SEM, SEO, Social Media, etc.
• Exposure to web analytics tools such as Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, Omniture, or other analytics tools is a plus
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to peers, stakeholders, and executive leadership in order to gain buy-in and drive change, alignment, adoption, engagement.
• Experience in writing briefs and ability to articulate ideas via exec-ready decks
• Experience with digital testing theory, strategy, and tools is a plus
• Team player, with the ability to work collaboratively with global cross-functional multi-disciplinary teams
• Well-developed time management and prioritization skills
• High energy and the ability to manage multiple initiatives, to work well under pressure in a high growth environment that is constantly changing, with a track record for delivering under demanding deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus
