Salesforce Platform - Regional Sales Director
About the Position:
Salesforce.com is looking for talented, hardworking individuals with great energy, leadership, and initiative to drive awareness for the fastest growing product at Salesforce, the Salesforce Lightning Platform. This Sales Leadership role leads a team of AE’s with a focus exclusively on the custom enterprise business application development platform. The RVP – Platform will formulate and execute a Platform sales strategy, guide the team of AE’s, drive revenue growth by penetrating the current customer base, and develop new customers in the retail space. This team will work in partnership with the existing account-owning AE’s and RVP’s in the regions, and will carry quota for the Platform product sales in their region.
Effective partnering with the Retail Sales Team is critical to the role. This is accomplished by participating and leading client and prospect meetings or engaging other corporate resources as required, as well as participating in regional forecast calls and account planning sessions. Accurately forecasting sales activity and revenue while creating satisfied and referenceable customers are key responsibilities within the Enterprise AE (Platform) position who this leader will manage on a day t day basis. This Sales Leader must have experience leading a technical sales team, have strong operational experience (Pipe line/forecasting, 1 on 1 guidance as well as team leadership, ability to work in front of clients as needed, and strong relationship building skills internally and externally).
Responsibilities:
• Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques with the team
• Develop and execute successful Platform sales campaigns and assist the team in driving these
• Hire and guide the team as needed
• Manage regular forecasting/pipeline calls and drive consistency with the team
• Build an open and transparent communication process with the AE”s and Sales Leadership
• Help the team strategize, negotiate & close business
• Exceed an annual sales quota
• Work with the industry’s best product marketing team to define the Platform-Custom Cloud go-to-market strategy.
• Evangelize the Internet's radical transformation of the custom applications market.
• Work with product management to distill key functionality and benefits into core product marketing messages.
Required Skills:
• Minimum 8 years of experience with selling software technology solutions (familiarity with the App Dev space)
• 5+ years experience in software sales and leadership
• Bachelor’s Degree (MBA a plus)
Desired Skills:
• Extensive background in technology and platform solutions such as application development, database, business intelligence, integration, internet
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and help sell large scale and complex systems to key accounts
• Consistent overachievement of goals
• Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Be creative with strong problem solving skills and the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment
• SaaS solution background in Sales Leadership
• Proven ability to work well as part of an extended sales team
