As Senior Director, you will lead initiatives to analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems in the Interest to Support area. You will plan, manage and control the activities of a team that provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. You will advise business groups by providing technical and strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. You will select, develop, and evaluate personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function.
Responsibilities
This is a broad job with a diverse set of responsibilities. You have a knack for designing and driving business process and company-wide productivity improvements through tool and process changes (in this case, for Sales and Marketing areas). You are a strong technical leader with plenty of experience dealing with users and mentoring software engineers and business analysts. You will be empowered to make strategic and technical decisions for your team and for Akamai. You will interact with business stakeholders on a regular basis as part of your job. The systems that you work on will have a first order impact on Akamai’s continued growth.
About the Team
The Enterprise Applications team which is part of the office of the CIO is primarily responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting enterprise applications / solutions. The team works on broad automation areas for Sales, Marketing, Services, Support and Enterprise Collaboration. The platforms include Salesforce CRM, Marketo and data/middleware systems. The team is distributed, with staff both in Cambridge, MA and Bangalore, India.
Required Education and Experience
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, another related filed or its equivalent.
Required Skills
• Minimum 8 years of implementing large scale implementation projects with mission critical applications.
• Minimum 6 years of management experience with a proven track record in hiring, managing, and setting direction of a team.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working directly with stakeholders, with strong customer focus and negotiation skills.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in all stages of the software development life cycle.
• Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating with remote teams.
