The Financial Systems and Core Transactional Services team builds and operates many of the core components that power travel for the best brands in online travel. Owning services across the ecommerce platform including Ordering, Loyalty, Coupons, and Tax, as well as the Financial Systems our team drives some of the top initiatives across Expedia Inc.
The Senior Director, FCTS leads the product strategy and roadmap delivery for technology platforms, specifically for:
• Financial Platform
• Financial Operations Solutions
• Finance Reporting Portal
However, the responsibilities and opportunities of this position do not end with building stable, stand-alone platforms. Comprehensive integration with our clients’ experiences is at the heart of the strategy that we pursue. Our technology products are the key enabler of this vision of a fully integrated experience.
Responsibilities
• Develop vision, strategy, innovation roadmap and product design for the Financial Systems through a detailed understanding of the needs as well as industry analysis for finance, supply and brand partners
• Drive prioritization and systematically address for conflicting goals across and within FCTS, eCP and Finance teams as well as our brand partners
• Drive execution of technology delivery in permanent, positive relationships with FCTS Technology teams working with brand and supply technology teams
• Lead continuous improvement though driving rigorous testing and measurement as a core source of direction for our investment and product innovation cycles
• Lead and develop a team across a variety of product management disciplines
Ideal Experience & Other Characteristics
• 10+ years relevant experience, ideally 5+ years in a leading product management role in an eCommerce business
• Validated leadership experience in complex environments and consistent track record of building high performing teams of Product Managers and/or technologists
• Experience handling complexity in unstructured operating environments, while still able to navigate in larger, more structured environments and demonstrate a history of consistent and balanced decisions about when more process is beneficial
• Shown success in developing compelling product visions combined with a validated history of successful execution
• Been responsible for a P&L and be very commercially sensitive, with experience in driving adoption and optimizing usage
• Demonstrable experience engaging directly with the customer and translating the feedback into actionable extensions to the product that is broadly applicable
• Be comfortable in a technology-centric environment and have plenty of experience in, or in close contact with, software delivery
• A deep understanding of how architecture can help or hinder the business, and have a real passion for doing things the right way
• Familiarity & comfort with agile software development approaches and a dependable and successful history including cooperation with technology teams
• Dedication to continuous excellence
• Strong presentation and persuasion skills, a requirement
• Senior analytical and problem-solving skills in a complex role and business
• Creative thinker with initiative and ability to work independently

• Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree a plus
