Manager, Public Affairs, Southwest
About the Role
WeWork is currently seeking a Public Affairs Manager for the Southwest Territory.
The Public Affairs Manager will be based in either Dallas or Denver reporting to Head of Public Affairs for the west based in San Francisco. This person will manage a portfolio of WeWork’s day-to-day public affairs efforts in Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, Austin, Denver and other cities soon to open in the southwestern US.
Strong candidates will have a sophisticated understanding of media relations, communications, public policy, campaigns, or cities – and will have demonstrable experience managing partnerships and executing thought leadership and campaigns and events.

Objectives:
• Deepen WeWork’s brand and product awareness in markets through local earned media and via multi-channel cross-functional campaigns.
• Strengthen WeWork’s brand and create social impact through civic partnerships and events.
• Establish WeWork as an influential civic stakeholder and protect business interests through government and influencer relations.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Head of Public Affairs to manage the day to day media and agency relationships across the region.
• Draft press briefings, talking points, runs of show, and media advisories for theHead of Public Affairs.
• Work with the Head of Public Affairs to execute launch playbooks for new markets and buildings across the region.
• Manage an editorial calendar across multiple cities.
• Work closely with WeWork member companies and create and maintain a member community directory to support WeWork member companies by helping promote their stories to media
• Work directly with Events Manager to execute and promote scalable brand awareness, community engagement, and thought leadership partnerships and events across the region.
• Work with the Event Manager and Marketing Manager and local Directors of Community to promote Marketing events and Community events to press, social influencers and VIPs.
• Work with WeWork’s brand, marketing, and social teams to create content and brand collateral for local integrated media campaigns.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
• Fluent in English and preferably spanish as a second language
• 6-8 years of public relations, public affairs, communications experience preferably in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Extensive relationships with key media, civic, non-profit, and business leaders
• Experience managing agencies
• Be a strong self-starter who is eager to make their mark in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization
• Experience working across various regions and/or territories
• Excellent organization, communication, writing and presentation skills:
• Experience working across multiple levels, teams and regions
• Experience with a wide range of communication channels including digital, broadcast, radio, and print
• Must be capable of managing multiple issues and projects at once. Prioritization is key to success.
• A passion for storytelling and intellectual interest in the future of work, cities, economic development, and entrepreneurship
• Ability to travel to both existing and new locations in the region
