Director, Product Management, Big Data Bidding Platform

MediaMath’s Bidding Platform is a powerful auction and decisioning engine that enables marketers to inject their buying preferences when evaluating media opportunities in real time. It is the world’s largest, fastest, most scalable and most resilient bidding system. We are currently looking for someone to lead and shape the next generation of this incredible system as Director, Product Management, Bidding Platform. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of programmatic ad buying across the advertising industry and work with one of our most scaled and central systems.
The ideal candidate for this position is well versed in large scale data analysis, has a passion for complex systems and marketplace dynamics, has strong technical background and an understanding of how to apply technology to solve real world problems. This person will drive the strategic vision for the next generation of the MediaMath Bidding Platform, collaboratively ensuring that our offering is constantly improving and evolving and will lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative service-oriented components to ensure the capability is not only able to operate at scale, and fully featured, but also extensible and potentially commercialize-able in the future.

What you’ll do:
• Drive the strategic visions for Bidder by identifying business opportunities and defining enhancements to capitalize on those opportunities.
• Define distinct Bidding suite of products and determine how to generalize bidding functions to support the vast majority of use cases while enabling adaptor model behavior extensibility so other teams can build upon.
• Create and maintain product documentation including business cases, user stories and, technical requirements.
• Deeply understand the costs of the bidding platform and drive a strategy to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Identify and design best in practice solutions for a bidding platform that fuels relevant and insightful advertising data.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and cross-functional teams on the development, and release of high quality products while balancing resources to ensure success for the entire organization.
• Monitor and optimize product performance on a regular basis to ensure delivery of committed functionality and exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Work collaboratively with internal stake holders on the go to market process and support new products and features.
• Work with user research to collect product feedback and then use that feedback to advance the product offering.
• Work with product marketing to create product documentation and demos for new product features
• Manage support issues for both internal and external stakeholders to maximize client satisfaction
What you’ll need:
Background
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience Product Managing the large footprint of a private cloud product service offering for large scale data analysis and recommendation engines.
Skills
• Well versed in big data, low latency, large scale systems [distributed decisioning].
• Strong understanding of general large-scale consumer web technology and making the act of bidding extensible and commodifiable.
• Experience with Agile software development / Scrum methodology
