Job Description
Ancestry is seeking a Senior Creative Director to manage and provide direction to external agency partners responsible for creative across the funnel (branded and performance) in the Australian, Canadian markets and any other non-EU emerging markets. This role will also provide creative oversight in EU market by way of managing the EU dedicated Creative Director located in the UK office. An understanding of local cultural nuances and incorporate them in effective advertising is crucial. This role is critical to keeping and evolving the creative brand strategy, expression and interpretation pure and at its highest level across multiple channels, including Television, Display Advertising, Social Media and Search Marketing.
What you will do:
• Direct, inspire and ensure external agencies and third-party resources are providing the highest level of copywriting, art direction, and design possible, providing daily approvals and direction on creative assignments in the AU and CA markets.
• Provide creative strategic oversight of the EU market via your direct report, the Creative Director dedicated to the EU market.
• Accountable for the creative effectiveness as measured by our internal metrics/targets
• Manage the relationship and career path of direct reports.
• Partner with internal teams in Marketing, Product and Corporate to help them articulate their strategy, messaging and tactics and enable creative success.
• Partner with Project Management to assign creative to the best internal (and external) teams.
• Ensure self and team are continuously curious and developing web and digital marketing capabilities.
• Consistently bring new, innovative ideas to the table, to the delight of your partners.
• Evolve the global brand guideline book to capture the international and by GEO essence
• Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of creative group policies, objectives and short- and long-term planning.
• Set priorities based on highest impact to brand and business results.
Qualifications
Who you Are:
Ideal Candidate: You are currently acting in an International Creative Director role for either an agency or consumer brand company. You have a proven ability to balance the need for results with the need for creative that captivates and delights a consumer brand target audience. Accustomed to frequent international travel.
• 5+ years of creative director level experience in an advertising agency or in-house advertising/marketing group in an international (non-US) based capacity
• Thorough understanding of creative writing and art direction for all forms of marketing communications
• Proven track record of elevating a brand and consistency across global touchpoints
• Knowledge of brand strategy and production
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) as well as confident presentation skills.
• Knowledge of current social media trends
• Knowledge of digital video/television production
• Ability to lead projects from concept to completion
• Bachelor’s Degree
