DESCRIPTION
The Delivery Experience (DEX) design team is looking for a talented, thorough, and detail-oriented Senior Art Director to be a strong owner of the visual experience across a range of customer-facing delivery programs. As the Art Director for DEX's design team, you will: create assets that will be used in many channels, across the Amazon site and elsewhere and across mobile and desktop channels; own the global visual style for various programs; and develop new creative approaches for branding and messaging on Amazon boxes and other packaging.
The DEX team owns several of Amazon's most popular and visible programs, including Prime Two-Day Shipping, Same-Day Delivery, Free Shipping by Amazon, Release-Date Delivery, No-Rush Shipping, company-wide brand campaigns on Amazon boxes, and much more. We have lots going on, all of it fun. There are opportunities for photo shoots, video creation, and illustration; in other words, your work will be seen by millions of people and you won't be bored.
Successful candidates will provide a strong portfolio and demonstrate excellent web interface and visual design skills.
Responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with other designers as well as product management, development, and business teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, on-brand graphic solutions to build a superior customer experience for Amazon delivery programs.
• Coordinate with design teams from across Amazon to align visual styles across organizations.
• Produce sketches, graphics, templates, layouts, themes, typography, and visual standards for merchandising or promotions across the retail web process.
• Provide and manage design documentation, style guides, and our visual voice.
• Proactively manage own time and deadlines.
• Partner with marketing team to create relevant assets for site merchandising, banner ads, email campaigns, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• At least seven years of experience in designing for retail web sites.
• Design degree and/or 4-year college degree preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating excellent visual design skills.
• Proficient skill level in the standard tools of the design trade, e.g. Photoshop, Fireworks, Visio, Omnigraffle, Illustrator, Dreamweaver
• Fluent in English with a proven track record of presenting to business stakeholders
• Branding background
• Experience with video editing
• Experience with art direction for photo and video shoot
