About the Role
WeWork is seeking a Director of Business Systems Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) to facilitate the onboarding and integrations associated with multiple M&A at various stages of the merger and acquisition lifecycle from due diligence through post-merger integration. The successful candidate will be responsible for being the Business Systems project management lead on the M&A team: developing project plans and managing projects for multiple systems onboarding and integration work streams, facilitating conversations and collaborating with other teams across WeWork, brokering decisions with appropriate stakeholders, identifying issues, and escalating risks. Additionally, the ideal candidate must thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage and work to bring clarity through ambiguity and complexity, and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Business systems that are integrated for mergers and acquisitions include all HRIS (Workday) and Finance Technology (Workday). For onboarding, you will partner with various business stakeholders and Business Systems teams to seamlessly bring people from acquired companies on-board from a HR and Finance technology perspective. You will translate software and service requirements into technical specifications and partner with software and service vendors/engineers to develop logical technical processes. You will also perform basic cost-benefit calculations, integration analysis, and prioritization exercises related to systems changes.
Onboarding:
• Partner with various business stakeholders and Business Systems/Technology teams to seamlessly bring people from acquired companies on-board from a hardware and system perspective.
Integrations:
• Partner with teams from the acquired company, Business Systems/Corporate Technology, and vendors to integrate and merge the associated data and systems.
• Translate software and service requirements into technical specifications and partner with software and service vendors/engineers to develop logical technical processes.
• Perform basic cost-benefit calculations, integration analysis, and prioritization exercises related to systems changes.
Primary Responsibilities
• Balance multiple products, services and projects at once and drive high velocity change.
• Represent Business Systems on the WeWork M&A team.
• Gather critical information required for Business Systems to seamlessly onboard personnel from acquired companies.
• Keep Business Systems team members informed about mergers and acquisitions.
• Partner with functional leads on the M&A team, Corp Tech, Finance, HR, and global teams to plan and execute tasks associated with onboarding.
• Partner with business liaisons and technical teams to understand and define system integration goals and technical system integration requirements.
• Work to identify actions associated with the acquired companies’ full list of services, software, and hardware.
• Facilitate system integrations outside of Business Systems through connecting acquired company POC (point of contact) with appropriate WeWork POC.
• Track outcome of all service, software, and hardware contract mergers and integrations outside of Business Systems.
• Sell ideas or visions through storytelling. Influence and advise stakeholders at all levels and positions in the company. Deliver thorough, appropriate and timely communications. Clearly communicate complex technical subjects to business and technology stakeholders.
• Create technical specifications and processes using structured analysis and data modeling techniques (e.g. process flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams).
• Able to use visual techniques, both in diagrams and informally on the whiteboard, that make it easier to understand and reason with difficult problems.
• Participate in or may lead system and user acceptance testing efforts.
• Build standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for business liaisons and software developers.
• Assist business liaisons to evaluate cost-benefit and ROI analyses.
• Understand system interdependencies and collaborate with project teams accordingly
• Develop and manage detailed project plans in tools like JIRA, Wrike, and Monday.com.
• Manage vendor statements of work, project budgets, and invoice payments.
• Develop detailed system requirements, test plans, and training materials.
• Strong at problem solving and able to design solutions that meet a range of sometimes conflicting requirements.
• Able to build strong personal relationships and trust.
• Able to facilitate disparate stakeholders and team members and drive consensus in meetings, workshops, and one to one interactions.
Job Requirements
• A minimum of 2 years experience in developing and implementing mergers and acquisitions/M&A integration and separation solutions with additional experience in corporate strategy or development a plus
• Additional industry deal experience as part of a corporate development team with operational exposure across primary corporate functions (e.g. HR, IT, Finance, Legal etc.)
• Experience managing multiple complex initiatives and within the complete M&A life cycle
• Demonstrated experience developing relationships with senior clients in a professional services environment
• Willingness to travel globally as needed
• Willingness to participate in meetings outside of core hours to support global mergers and acquisitions in other time zones
• 5+ years of experience in a Project Management role
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Engineering, (or related field) and/or 5+ years’ experience in Project Management
• Organized, analytical, motivated, resourceful, flexible, and collaborative.
• Ability to collaborate with WeWork and acquired company business stakeholders; Corporate Technology tech support, training, systems engineering, infrastructure, information security, audiovisual, and project management teams; and vendors.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products.
• Ability to partner with software and service vendors / engineers to identify course of resolutions.

• Experience using tools to capture user stories, test cases, sign-offs, etc. JIRA is preferred.
• Knowledge of HR and Payroll processing requirements
• Knowledge of Workday HCM and/or Finance a plus
• Experience using project management tools like JIRA, Wrike, Monday, and AirTable.
• Strong Excel, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint Skills
• Certifications such as Agile, CSM, Lean Six Sigma or PMP a plus
