Job Description
Director of Operations: Analytics & Reporting
The director of operations analytics and reporting informs strategy development and decision-making through holistic data integration, objective data analytics, and actionable recommendations. Within the Ancestry DNA team, the reporting and analytics team is focused on leveraging best practices in modeling and data analytics to capture and integrate data, perform analyses and optimize our supply chain to minimize costs and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Initially focus on completing management reporting package, defining KPI’s in partnership with business leaders and manage suite of metrics & insights that will be used to optimize the business
• Develop scalable modeling and analytics tools in partnership with internal Business Intelligence teams
• Work towards build out of self service, real-time tools for end-users to manage operational performance
• Beginning with strategic thinking and deep data analysis: collaborate to define, collect, and track operational metrics to determine baselines, enhance our value proposition, and manage and improve supply chain performance
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis and communicate the results of the analysis to the leadership in a clear and comprehensive way
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and business-oriented colleagues
• Maintain and lead team of experienced analysts
Qualifications
• BS/BA degree in Supply Chain or related field (MBA Preferred)
• 5-7 years professional experience in supply chain analytics, management consulting (with a supply chain focus) with management experience.
• Background in Finance/Accounting preferred, or extensive experience partnering with Finance/Accounting
• A hands-on team player that can inspire/mentor team members.
• Able to analyze large sets of data, pull out insights and then proactively communicate those insights and an action plan to senior leaders. Able to grasp complex issues and look beyond the obvious
• Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication and influence. Relentless about following up until the job is done.
• Understanding of Supply Chain & Logistics KPI’s, Metrics and Financial drivers
• Advanced use of Excel/VBA, SQL, Halo, Tableau preferred
• Highly analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems using lean methodologies
• Extremely organized, meticulous and detailed oriented
• Ability to influence decision makers without authority to drive improvement completion
• Ability to lead discussions and communicate effectively with senior level leadership
• Ability to be effective in fast-paced, high-growth environment
