Job Description
About the Role
This role is responsible for leading Uber’s global social media team. This leader will help define the vision and strategy for global social media channels and campaigns, work with Uber’s brand, marketing, editorial and communications teams, and bring cultural relevancy and immediacy to our social channels.
You’ll lead and grow the team to develop our social voice and tone, global social content, social channel strategy and process, and build the strategies and resources for a widely distributed social marketing team.

What You’ll Do
• Inspire innovation and creativity across our global editorial channels and campaigns
• Lead innovative and evocative cross-functional storytelling across Social, Influencer, blog, Content Partnerships to tell a holistic, impactful story
• Bring to life brand tone of voice and values across channels through owned and earned messaging, external partnerships, and go-to-market campaigns
• Work collaboratively with Brand Relevance, Comms, Strategy, Creative, Marketing and Executive teams
• Mentor and grow a rapidly evolving editorial team, comprised of Social, Influencer, Content Partnerships and Blog/longform
• Activate fast and effective editorial crisis plans across channels
• Facilitate knowledge and resource sharing to ensure a high bar for social execution across highly distributed teams, channels and cities
• Work with international teams to develop a sophisticated strategy for reaching audiences through international editorial channels
What You’ll Need
• At least 10 years experience as a leader and manager in multi-channel content creation and ideation
• Best-in-class editorial skills and a track record of mentoring young strategists, writers, editors, and marketing managers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• In-depth expertise with digital and content marketing best practices, and ability to advocate to various internal and external audiences
• Experience dealing with social and comms crises and actioning effective plans
• Experience using data-driven learning and analytics to improve and optimize campaigns and digital content strategies over time
• Strong relationships with content partners, media platforms and best-in-class brands to learn from and lean on
• Ability to remain creative, diplomatic, calm under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively and to foster communication internally and externally
