WeWork’s Vice President of Talent Acquisition will lead a talent acquisition team dedicated to building an employment brand that equals the powerful WeWork brand; delivering an unparalleled candidate and hiring experience for prospective team members, both external and internal; and attracting top talent from around the world to join us on our explosive growth trajectory as we fulfill our mission to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living.
The Vice President of Talent Acquisition will lead a corporate talent acquisition team located in New York and provide direction and best practices for regional talent teams in major markets around the globe. You will be responsible for leading a team supporting the talent acquisition process spanning every department and function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for brand building, process improvement, infrastructure, and growing the capabilities of the talent acquisition team, hiring managers, and candidates themselves through helping create a talent partnership model with the business.
This position reports into the Head of People, and will be part of the People Leadership team consisting of People Operations, People Strategy, Total Rewards and Learning.
Key Responsibilities
The Vice President, Talent Acquisition will have a number of critical responsibilities focused on partnering with the business, developing the talent acquisition team, scaling our processes, and evolving our employee value proposition strategy.
• Partnering with the Business:
◦ In conjunction with other members of the talent leadership team, be a trusted advisor to internal leaders focusing on organizational design, compensation structure and responsibilities of each role
◦ Determine workforce planning strategies, leveraging data to determine both short and long term recruiting plans
◦ Identifying the right balance of in-house versus agency versus volume hiring methodologies
• Continuing to build a world-class talent acquisition team:
◦ Develop high performing talent acquisition professionals through ongoing opportunities for professional development, mentorship and coaching
◦ Share knowledge and best practices within the talent acquisition team, as well as broadly within the organization to ensure that WeWork’s recruiting is highly effective and valued
◦ Scale the talent acquisition team globally, ensuring we have the right resource allocation and ratio of talent partners and associates with the business
• Scaling our Delivery Processes & Metrics Dashboard:
◦ Contribute to the design and evolution of leading edge recruiting tools and processes for sourcing, assessment and onboarding
◦ Develop best-in-class talent acquisition strategies, methods, referrals, direct sourcing and social media strategy
◦ Build robust talent pipelines that tap into targeted universities, companies, regions and technical communities
• Building an Employee Value Proposition and External Presence
◦ Develop a strong employment brand for WeWork, incorporating the value proposition into our recruiting processes, tools, events and social media strategies
◦ Build robust talent pipelines that tap into targeted universities, companies, regions and technical communities
◦ Create an exceptional candidate experience that represents our employee experience
• Skills and Professional Requirements
◦ BA/BS degree required; MBA highly desirable
◦ Experience recruiting in a consumer-facing / consumer service industry (particularly hospitality or retail), or high-volume professional services desirable
◦ 15+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years in talent acquisition, either at a best-in-class global company or highly regarded search firm
◦ A minimum of 7 years of experience leading a team of 15+ individuals, including experience leading a global team
◦ Track record of regular interaction with senior-level executives in F1000 or equivalent is desirable
