What You Will Do
The Corporate Strategy Director is responsible for driving impact by leading key strategic initiatives and projects for the company. In this strategy role, you will work closely with Cisco executive leadership, business unit VP/GMs and functional leaders across Sales/Channel, etc. to develop and execute strategies that drive Cisco business opportunities. Cisco’s customers are in the midst of a Digital transition, and in order for Cisco to meet and exceed our customer expectations, we need to evolve our engagement with customers across the full lifecycle. We need to expand our reach to customers by growing the Cisco presence through new marketplaces (e.g. Public Cloud marketplaces like AWS, Azure etc.), and with new ecosystems/partners especially for IoT and Intelligent Edge applications. Furthermore, the needs in growth markets like China, India, etc require new models to maximize the opportunity for Cisco and the best experience for our customers.
Role
& Responsibilities
• You will play a leadership role in identifying and executing key strategic priorities informed by the key needs and opportunities the Digital transition we see across all industries. Translating these trends into implications for Cisco, with respect to how we need to improve and evolve our capabilities is a key success criteria.
• You will formulate long-term strategic priorities and plans, analyze and make recommendations related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive dynamics, and internal business performance improvement.
• You will work on highly complex problems, gain insight into the strategic issues which are forefront in the minds of the executive leadership team, exposure to senior-level decision-making and the opportunity to establish relationships with people across the entire organization.
• You will build key relationships, while engaging with leaders across Cisco to formulate and drive strategic engagements across key topics to accelerate Cisco’s GTM transition in this new world.
Who You’ll Work With
The Corporate Strategy team at Cisco reports to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The CSO's charter includes the ongoing development and coordination of Cisco's corporate strategy and its growth strategy through business development activities including acquisitions, strategic partnerships, equity investment, and incubation of innovative technologies. We partner with business leaders to shape and drive Cisco's strategy for innovation, growth, profitability and market leadership. We partner with key Sales (globally across regions), Channels, Customer success and Operations functions, to ensure Cisco successfully transitions to a software and continuous value delivery business model.
Who You Are
The Minimum Qualifications for this Role are:
• Top-tier MBA
• Min 6-8 years’ experience post MBA in top-tier consulting firm, corporate strategy / financial services field with strong exposure to technology industry (preferable) or applicable post MBA experience within another large technology firm in corporate and/or go to market strategy combined with industry experience in driving key strategic priorities influencing C-level stakeholders
• You have excellent leadership and communication skills to work with senior executives across various geographies.
• You have strong people development and influencing skills; you are able to build and drive extended and virtual teams.
• You possess strong financial and analytical skills to work on complex business issues with minimum supervision.
The Desired Skills are:
• You have functional experience in the technology industry pre/post Consulting (preferred).
• You have a deep understanding of key technology and business model changes happening inside large enterprises as part of the Digital transition that is happening.
• You have experience partnering with sales operations, marketing, regional sales team, and customer success creating impact.
• You strive to excel in all areas of strategy development, including project management, problem solving, executive communication, consensus building, and people development.
• You are a strong business analyst, demonstrating success in uncovering and building cases for new growth opportunities, winning cross functional and executive approval to pursue and leading go to market planning and execution for them.
• You have the ability to become a future leader and be successful in an unstructured, team oriented environment.
• You lead change by establishing and nurturing an inspiring culture and developing talent within the team.
