Reporting to the VP of Corporate Marketing, the Director of Technology Public Relations will have a proven track record of partnering with product management, product marketing and C-level executives to raise visibility for innovation strategy and product portfolio. This role will oversee Technology PR at RingCentral, managing the product communications strategy for earned and owned media channels across a unified platform of voice, video meetings, team messaging, developer platform and contact center solutions. The ideal candidate is highly results driven, customer focused, and skilled at building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Develop and drive the strategy and execution for RingCentral’s technology communications program to elevate overall awareness and media coverage.
• Create compelling messages and stories for our technology portfolio that resonate with press and customers and deliver measurable results.
• Work with the product marketing team to develop market-relevant stories, the right content, vehicles and channels to drive earned and owned media.
• Collaborate with marketing colleagues including, corporate public relations, and social media on product focus areas and integrated marketing programs.
• Apply influencer strategies to add credibility to key innovations and market positioning for the business.
• Manage day-to-day PR agency activities that support the innovation and technology group and collaborate with peers in analyst relations, corporate PR, exec communications and social media to maximize content and drive additional awareness opportunities.
• Build and support thought leadership programs in cloud communications, team messaging and contact center.
Skills and Background
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in media relations and product/solutions communications with some experience in cloud or B2B software technologies
• Demonstrated ability to establish thought leadership and raise share-of-voice
• Demonstrated ability to devise and execute communications programs with ecosystem partners.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ease at influencing and executing in a matrix organization at all levels.
• Ability to translate complex technology into compelling stories that reflect customer reality.
• Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail, high-energy and ability to be successful in a dynamic working environment and to work under pressure (i.e. crisis communications and competitive response situations).
• Creativity, accountability, discipline and integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism, English or related field is desired.
