Director, Strategy & Analytics (Travel Insurance and Travel Assistance)

We are searching for a passionate leader to join our team as a Director of Analytics & Strategy. You’ll build our analytics team from scratch in pursuit of employing our wealth of data to lead, empower and support key business decision and strategy. You'll run all analytics areas including product, retail, marketing, supply and strategy analytics. You will also lead strategy answering core questions about the business model and path forward, partnering with the general manager, business development, product management and engineering teams.
This highly visible role where you will intersect with our external insurance partners and all levels within our organization providing an opportunity to fundamentally define the future of Insurance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the analytics and strategy team and participate as a core member of our Leadership Team
• Evaluate revenue opportunities that encourage us to innovate new business models, new channels and new customer experiences.
• Partner with senior leadership to continually define and drive the long-term strategy
• Partner across a wide set of domains and across functional teams to accelerate delivery of deep business insights and actionable recommendations based on data and analytics
• Use data to identify, evaluate, and run strategic business opportunities with significant potential incremental revenue
• Develop a keen understanding of the competitive landscape and act as a subject matter authority for travel insurance and assistance.
• Partner with our Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to continually improve and provide feedback on data environments, platforms, utilization and user experience
• Help drive finance forecasting and budgeting processes in support of finance team
• Define, implement and standardize metrics, reports and dashboards
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
• Possess blend of business strategy and data savvy; a big-picture vision as well as the drive and attention to detail that transforms the vision into a reality
• 3-5 years developing a team of technically advanced analytical professionals.
• 10+ years in analytics, business intelligence and/or strategy. Experience in a credible management consulting firm (Bain, BCG, McKinsey) preferred
• Prior experience in managing and effectively influencing large matrixed teams in a hyper-competitive industry with validated experience succeeding with large projects
• Consistent record of decision-making derived from business analysis and hard data
• Experience in leading and crafting executive updates and presentations at the most senior levels of a company
• Familiarity with eCommerce functionality as it relates to web analytics, customer data and product analytics
• Consistent history of a creative and structured approach to problem solving
• An engaged collaborator that can partner effectively across teams
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to prioritize among conflicting demands in a fluid environment
