Purpose Of The Job
To be responsible for Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, affirmative action and employment equity programs.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
• Conduct exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
• Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
• Collaborate with business partners to solve problems and resolve conflicts in a creative, responsive and pro-active manner.
• Evaluate location from a human resources perspective; partner with the appropriate resources to implement a pro-active, employee focused plan with an end result of meeting the location’s employee, operational and financial goals.
• Train and support operational managers and supervisors to ensure company goals for employee development and customer service are attained through consistent execution of human resources, training and operational plans.
• Maintain open communication of issues, initiatives and operating plans and responsibilities among location personnel, management, regional and corporate office to facilitate efficient and effective execution of training plans and HR programs.
• Represent the company for any unemployment claims
• Facilitate and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce
• Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical job openings.
• Represent management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling meetings between supervisor and the employee.
• May conduct new hire orientation as well as new hire paperwork for processing.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum two years experience performing human resources generalist type of duties.
• Previous HR support within warehouse/distribution center environment highly preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance.
• Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred.
• Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
• The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.
• Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and/or government laws.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible with a strong customer focus.
• Innovative, quick learner.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong meeting facilitation skills.
Essential Mental and Physical Functions
Mental Functions:
Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position develops procedures for performance of a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.
Physical Functions:
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.
Equipment Used
Standard office and computer equipment including MSOffice software.
Work Environment
Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.

None.
Language Skills
Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
