Job Description
The Director of Strategic Sourcing will be the leader of Ancestry’s sourcing and supplier management functions. In this role, you will be the process owner responsible for demonstrating the Strategic Sourcing value proposition to key stakeholders, and strategically assisting in driving cost reductions and maximizing EBITDA. You will also be responsible for overseeing key stakeholder relationships and measuring the performance of the supply base. You will assist in the mitigation of Ancestry's risk in third party relationships associated with all company purchases. You will also be responsible for the creation and implementation of a new Procure to Pay process across the organization.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
• Deliver on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives and oversight of assigned staff
• Create a Procure to Pay process and implement systems across multiple functions and organizations to align these functions and create a unified, seamless Procure to Pay process for all purchases across the organization
• Supervise and direct assigned staff including monitoring and evaluating work performance, interviewing and hiring staff, conducting training and development, establishing work priorities and scheduling job tasks
• Working in conjunction with key stakeholders and based on joint goals, analyze business plans and supply requirements to determine optimal sourcing strategies across the organization
• Identify and implement strategic processes and technologies to drive efficiencies across the team, including, but not limited to, sourcing processes, score-carding and compliance.
• Provide direction with respect to negotiations and negotiating teams around contractual terms and conditions, pricing, and service levels
• Identify, research, and prioritize possible sourcing opportunities through internal spend analysis, knowledge of business units, potential savings, and/or urgency of business need
• Determine and recommend alternate supply strategies while creating cost savings and/or supply support solutions
• Develop and implement efficiencies, standardized tools, practices and procedures.
• Develop and manage Governance, risk and controls for the sourcing function.
• Establish clear performance metrics for suppliers driving performance and financial responsibility
• Lead the Strategic Sourcing team with the goal of development, empowering and executing company initiatives
• Direct business reviews on performance and opportunities. Identify corrective action plans where improvements are needed
• Measure team effectiveness against established performance metrics
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
• Minimum of 10-15 years of leadership experience in sourcing and procurement
• 5 years of management or team leadership experience
• Thorough understanding of the P2P process
• Negotiation experience
• Integrity, honesty and the drive to do what's best for the business
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well with a broad array of individuals within and outside the company
• Highly motivated self-starter and drives for results
• Strategic thinker
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA, JD, or other advanced degree
• CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
• Successful track record of creating and implementing Procure to Pay or other similar technologies or processes within a large, international organizations
• Thorough understanding of e-procurement processes and systems, preferably Oracle and ServiceNow
• Expertise with multiple spend categories
