Director, US Indirect Tax
The Indirect Tax Director will support the Expedia tax team by leading various domestic special projects, including advising the Expedia brands on tax impacts of proposed business initiatives, supporting corporate transactions and acquisitions, and managing other indirect tax special projects, including supporting financial reporting positions and internal research and analysis on a variety of complex state and local indirect tax issues in areas of tax law that may be novel and not well defined. The Indirect Tax Director role will involve coordinating with business stakeholders and other tax disciplines on complex and exciting projects as well as supervising and mentoring junior professionals.
Required Job Responsibilities:
• Perform/review legal research and analysis on a variety of state and local indirect tax issues and draft memoranda and other written documents
• Advise business stakeholders on indirect tax issues and how to mitigate tax risk
• Manage and implement special projects, including tax business advisory and internal tax department efforts to analyze tax risk and mitigate/resolve potential exposures and realize tax benefits
• Effectively represent the indirect tax group in business advisory meetings either as participant or leader
• Participate in the development and management a team of motivated tax professionals

Relevant Qualifications and Experience:
• BA/BS degree
• MPAcc (Tax) or J.D. with LL.M (tax) strongly preferred
• CPA or licensed attorney strongly preferred
• 8+ years of relevant experience in a corporate tax department, public accounting and/or law firm
• Strong knowledge of general state tax laws and concepts
• Proficiency with basic office applications and tax research tools such (Office, RIA/Checkpoint, etc.)
