Description
We are currently looking for an experienced art director and designer to support the Creative function in our New York office. Reporting into the Creative Lead, you will play a pivotal role in helping progress the team output bringing innovation and hands-on experience to deliver world-class AR solutions on global projects for our clients. You’re great storyteller as well as a great designer.
Internally, you will be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, take direction and be able to work autonomously.
Externally, you will need to be adept at presenting in an inspiring way, be able to hold your own and sell your concepts and design decisions when presenting to clients.
Overview
• Introducing and applying expert art direction to the visual elements of creative projects
• Ensuring a high standard of visual execution across all media and campaigns
• Inspiring and motivating the agency’s clients to be creatively progressive, through the application of fresh ideas and innovative visual work
• Taking ownership of client proposals: conceptualize ideas for new augmented reality campaigns, visualize your ideas through mock-ups and storyboards, and assemble pitch decks for presentation
• Hands-on design work creating experiences and apps for the AR space across devices
• Uncovering new ways to incorporate emerging and new media formats into campaigns
• Work across disciplines with developers, 3D and UX designers to ensure aesthetics are aligned with usability and web standards and ensure the integrity of the creative vision
Requirements
• 3-4 years’ + experience in a similar role. Agency or studio background and experience preferred.
• A strong portfolio showcasing interactive work
• A strong knowledge of typography, image manipulation, grids, and layout
• Hands-on experience designing for the digital space: bonus points if you’ve worked on apps and responsive websites
• The ability to consistently generate original ideas and innovative concepts
• The confidence to explain and support your thinking, both internally and externally
• A flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to the needs of clients
• A passion for design and technology
• A keen eye for visual details and accuracy
• The resilience to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality work to deadline
• High level skills in Adobe Creative Suite
• Copywriting ability preferred
Bonus Skills
• A strong knowledge or experience with illustration and animation
• Illustration and animation skills, knowledge of After Effects
• An interest in user experience design
• Experience working in the 3D space or with a team of 3D designers
