DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Director, Diversity and Inclusion will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the Spectrum’s strategic plan and program development and deployment, including programs for recruiting, retention and leadership development. Our leader of D&I will work with our businesses to unlock the innovative potential of our diverse, global talent across the divides of gender, generation, geography and culture. This is an individual contributor role and will require the ability to influence and lead without a team. The position will report to Audible’s Chief People Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set a cutting-edge global workforce strategy and agenda for Spectrum at Audible.
• Conduct workforce analysis and organizational assessments to identify enablers and inhibitors of a workplace that is diverse and inclusive and targets programs where greatest leverage can be achieved.
• Partner with the HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, and business leaders to review internal HR and business processes to ensure that they are inclusive and propose and drive implementation of any necessary remediation strategies.
• In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team, identify and implement strategic opportunities to develop our global diversity pipeline including best practices to recruit in the Newark and local communities in which we operate.
• Work with the Human Resources team to develop and implement diversity and inclusion programming for leaders and all employees on issues pertaining to inclusive and collaborative leadership, work style and career path differences.
• Partner with employees to establish new and grow existing affinity groups to maximize their contributions to Audible’s mission internally and with our customers.
• Establishing governance, mission, budget and oversight for global Spectrum efforts.
• Develop and analyze metrics for measuring progress and effectiveness of the diversity and inclusion strategy.
• Monitor external diversity best practices and make recommendations for “next” differentiating practices and new initiatives to ensure that Audible develops into a leader in the diversity and inclusion space.
• Work collaboratively with the Corporate Communications team to enhance the firm’s reputation for diversity and inclusion, including content for Audible’s website and intranet.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree.
• 10+ years of experience in HR, Diversity & Inclusion, Community Outreach or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of business experience in a non-diversity role and can demonstrate commercial thinking in designing ideas and initiatives that relate to Audible’s vision and mission.
• Demonstrated success in developing cutting edge strategy and driving process improvements with regard to global issues in the workplace.
• Proven track record of facilitating enterprise-level initiatives with multiple senior stakeholders (Executive Leadership Team, Leadership Committees and other business leaders).
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills across levels, with an ability to persuade and influence, and the ability to build enthusiasm and commitment.
• Strong analytic skills, with a track record of using data and metrics to evaluate needs, drive change and measure impact.
• Strong organization skills, including setting priorities, planning, structuring project deliverables and problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills, including effective writing, listening, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Proven willingness and ability to be hands-on.
• Strong knowledge of EEOC and global regulatory requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Candidate should have a strong understanding of business strategy and how to link D&I and HR initiatives to business activities.
• A strong and hands-on consultant with demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and turn that analysis into actionable solutions.
