About the Position – Regional Vice President (RVP)
The RVP leads and directs all sales efforts within our Commercial accounts. The role is one that dictates strong leadership and communication skills, as well as superior sales training, managing and coaching skills.
The RVP is responsible for directing a team to meet and exceed all established sales goals and company objectives. Paramount to the position is an ability to provide strong sales leadership and teamwork in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment; resulting in meeting established sales goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Meet and exceed established sales goals.
• Develop and drive strategic territory business and key account planning.
• Work hand in hand with the business development function (BDR) and Marketing
• Track activity, call and execution rates
• Manage the sales pipeline and forecast sales revenues, including business renewal pipeline for the region
• Support and deploy corporate policies and strategic sales plans for increasing market penetration in the region.
• Direct, lead and motivate Account Executives to exceed sales goals.
• Achieve hiring objectives—recruit, hire, and train all Account Executives
• Work with Account Executives to coach and collaborate in areas such as sales methodology and process, market analysis, customer needs and pricing strategies.
• Drive brand awareness campaigns and lead generation efforts in close partnership & collaboration with marketing.
• Develop and manage regional strategic alliances & partnerships.
• Provide critical field input for corporate strategy development and future planning.
• Manage effectively in a matrix organization by collaborating with other teams in addition to Sales, which include Solution Consulting/Pre-Sales, Professional Services, Marketing, Finance and Employee Success.
• Establish operating budgets by working closely with finance to implement effective controls to maintain expenditures within budget.
• Keep abreast of products, applications, market conditions, competitive activities and industry trends.
• Represent Wave Analytics Cloud at major selling events, analyst and partner meetings, and any other relevant sales activities.
• Work closely with Employee Success to select, evaluate and develop talent to ensure the effectiveness of the sales organization. Specific activities include participating in the recruitment of new sales talent and providing mentoring, coaching, performance feedback, and training for existing employees.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5-7 years of corporate software sales management experience.
• A proven sales leader with well-developed sales management skills, combined with the ability to build and motivate strong teams
• The ability to manage many deals simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level view of the business.
• Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and/or Advanced Analytics experience a plus
• Articulate and persuasive oral and written communication skills.
• A proven strong, dynamic leader.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• An entrepreneur.
• Superior professional presence and business acumen.
• Thorough understanding of MS Office applications and Internet.
• Proven experience selling at the "C" level.
• Interactive marketing experience a plus.
• Systems Integration / Consulting experience a plus
