You will work with fellow brand, product, social, PR, events, and communications team members to create content and experiences that tell our story.

Your Role
As Content Strategist, you will define content requirements , write En-US copy for mozilla.org and related websites such as blog.mozilla.org, and deliver copy and requirements to engineers for implementation. As a key member of the Websites cross-functional team, you’ll work iteratively using agile marketing practice and collaborate closely with the team’s UX/UI designers, engineers, and program manager. You will work both within the Moz.org team on evergreen copy on landing pages like Get Involved, About, and the homepage, and with other teams (e.g. Mozilla and Firefox teams) to finalize content on their pages.
This role reports to our Creative Director.
As a Content Strategist here at Mozilla…
• You will write with clarity, brevity, and style, and determine what content (written, visual, motion, etc.) best suits the story to be told
• You will conduct content audits, competitive research, and gap analyses
• You will partner with UX designer(s) on taxonomy and UI designer(s) on design system updates
• You will manage the content relationship among stories from different teams such as the Mozilla Consumer+Creator teams, Firefox marketing teams, Mozilla Foundation, and more to ensure a consistent, on-brand content experience across our web properties
• You will develop and share in the testing of proposed user journeys, working closely with the UX designer, and become the team’s subject matter expert on SEO terminology and ideal calls to action
• You will create content with an eye toward localization in multiple languages and work with localizers to transcreate as needed
• You will follow existing writing/tone guidelines, propose new guidelines as needed, and share insights and best practices across teams within and outside of the Marketing department department
• You will become an expert on the target audiences of our web experiences and contribute to testing and validating content for those audiences

• You will support Mozilla’s mission to ensure the Internet is a public resource — healthy, open and accessible to all
• You will contribute to and support the Marketing team’s strategic areas of focus and key performance indicators including quarterly deliverables
• You will contribute to a positive team culture built around Marketing core values and team norms
Your Professional Profile
• 4+ years experience in a content strategy or senior editorial role
• Degree in English, journalism, technical writing or other writing/communication- intensive field
• Demonstrated ability to generate and execute content strategy for complex, multi-audience web experience(s)
• Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet project goals, deadlines, and budgets especially working within a distributed team.
• Experience presenting to diverse audiences and defining the value added by creative strategy, process, and results
• Experience working in a decentralized, geographically distributed, highly collaborative and open environment a plus
• Knowledge of product marketing, SEO, and web analytics a plus
• Experience working in an agile marketing environment a plus
• An ability to create order out of chaos and a healthy sense of humor
